All these English seaside resorts seem to have gone the same way. They're full of society's waifs, strays and general detritus. Was in Great Yarmouth on Saturday night - shithole is about the only adjective that does it justice. Shame really but who do you blame?

Most traditional seaside resorts have a whiff of despare and decay about them and its that what brings down the standards and the prices and brings out the trouble BUT when all's said and done its what makes them appealing to us, part of their charm.

Personally, i like Blackpool and my favorite little speck is The Sun Inn, on the road parallel to the front, near the south pier. Propper boozer, just as they should be.

pmsl ... l spent 5 weeks in Vegas (after 1 week l felt like swimming home ) .. "wife had business there" .. Blackpool ain't no Vegas, but l do know what it is, full of miserable, angry looking Mexicans ..

 

We knew someone that owned a pool hal in Vegasl. Free beer all night "best part of the trip" .. the doorman at the pool hall narrowly escaped with his life one night. He caught a gang of Mexican's mooching around the kitchen area in the back of the pool hall. Hd challenged them. He was lucky to have lived. He was a big fella. He reckoned the gang was aged around 15 / 16 years of age .. bit like Blackpool, full of headcases ..

I went there the other week,I hadn't been in about 9 years,it's gone down hill in a big way imo.

It used to be like a toned down,nicer,posher Blackpool,now it's just full of crackheads and Romanians,the road where maccys was is literally just charity shops and Polish deli's now.

 

Or am I just seeing it through rose tinted glasses?
