BRYKAY 2
WAS OUT WITH THE FERRETS THE OTHER DAY AND WAS PESTERED FOR AN HOUR BY A RED KITE WHICH NORMALLY YOU CANT GET NEAR BUT HE CIRCLED OVERHEAD & SAT NEARBY WATCHING THE FERRETS GOING IN & OUT THE SETS. I WAS SURE HE WAS GOING TO HAVE A SWOOP AT THEM IF I HAD MOVED FURTHER AWAY, ANYBODY ELSE HAD BOTHER WITH BIRDS OF PREY? Quote Link to post

mooster 1
Heve often had buzzards trying to nick my shot pigeon decoys but never seen a kite. Makes you wonder if the kite has used this method to steal bolting rats or rabbits when watching stoats, weasels etc at work?? Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
Last time i wasout ferreting i had three red kites circling me like vultures. I wouldn't leave the ferts above ground long near them either. I think they were probably just interested and were drawn to the rabbit warrens as they do take their fair share of young rabbits etc... Squirrel_Basher 17,100
................................., ANYBODY ELSE HAD BOTHER WITH BIRDS OF PREY? Prince Harry Damn, beat me to it .lol. It is said that kites were as commen as seagulls are now ,years ago and that the gull has replaced kites as the main inland scavenger ,especially around rubbish tips .As for a kite taking a ferret ,that wouldnt happen .The size of the feet denote what birds of prey kill and kites are not endowed in that department .Scavengers and insect eaters .
