gnasher16 30,121
Its sad that the world has lost one of the greatest human beings ever to be born in my opinion but at the same time i cant help feeling a bit of relief that he wont be paraded around anymore i hated seeing such a wonderful athlete reduced to the state he was.......he seemed to possess all the important qualities required for competition but he was so much more than just a sportsman and possibly the only sportsman to ever be bigger than his sport.
BGD 6,436
The greatest that ever was or ever will be He sure had a way with words too, one of my favourite quotes from him, "Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." RIP Champ. I hated to see him being paraded about too.... I was always under the impression that as a Muslim there burial was to be within 24 hours of death... just saw on sky news his funerals next week & every ones invited ... its being televised like a state funeral which I find a little bit sad if truth be told I cant think his ego was that big he would have wanted to have a state like funeral despite his conversion to Islam ... so I assume this is his familys decision
DogFox123 1,379
Just read that all his organs had failed yet his heart wouldn't stop beating for 30 minutes. His family told him to let go but that heart of his is as big as the world. Edited June 4, 2016 by DogFox123

Greengrass 201
RIP ali. he was one of the greatest boxers in a era of good/great boxers and quite possibly the the greatest of all times. RIP ali. he was one of the greatest boxers in a era of good/great boxers and quite possibly the the greatest of all times. That's the thing Trigger, he was a Champion in an era of Super Champions. The Golden Era IMO.Watching the news this morning they kept showing the footage of Henry Cooper putting Ali on the ropes. FFS I think that moment in sporting history meant more to you Brits than the '66 World Cup . LOL. Does everything come down to a hate of the Brits with you or what!???...anyway what was the name of the Heavyweight out of Ireland that put Clay on his arse?? i forget...was it Dan Donnelly maybe?? ...Cooper had one of the best left hooks in the division at that point...Clay was saved by the bell...and if it wernt for a bit of 'gamesmanship' by Angelo Dundee(his words) he wouldnt of made it out for the 5th!...Sugar Ray Robinson hit the nail on the head when he used to say that if Cooper could knock Ali down...Louis would of knocked him out!...but still one of the Greatest...R.I.P...free now after what he had to live with all them yearsDon't agree there brindle, Louis would nt have got close to Ali in his prime, it would have been a mismatch, take nothing away from Louis but I grew up with Ali, and from what footage I have seen of both Ali and Louis Ali would win every time...yes he was saved my Angelo Dundee s quick thinking but is,nt that what a good corner man is there for ? He got up and stopped Cooper, and if you notice he never stayed down from a punch....perhaps we need Gnasher to referee this one...seconds out ...

Ali was bigger than big and will never be replaced, the most recognisable human being on planet earth, nobody else will ever come close to Ali in my opinion.
