Ozzies Say It How It Is

Recommended Posts

If someone in the UK was attacked and/or killed by a wild animal, there would be moonlit vigils for them, people saying it wasn't their fault and lynch mobs out to get the "offending" creature.

This woman was attacked by a crocodile in Australia and the response from the local MP was that "You can't legislate against human stupidity." Too true.

I have Aussie relatives home at the moment and they were telling me before that incident that recently two old friends went out fishing as they have been for years. A croc flipped their boat killing one of them and the other man climbed onto the hull of the boat. He was there for 5 hours with the croc watching him.

That never made the news over here.

Think that is classed as unlucky Neil ....going swimming with critters 15 long , a gob full of teeth and a pox attitude is classed as news worthy ...?

Unless we want to try to extinguish all small and large dangerous wild life on this planet, then is it not about time we stop thinking that we are the most special humans to have ever lived on this planet, It is F-ing Australia not bloody Milton Keynes , things with big teeth that kill live there. And if you are arrogant enough to think it only ever happens to others when going amongst them in their environment , well what can one say?

Cant see common sense like that prevailing in this country our government would never say it as it is. "You can't legislate against human stupidity."

The tough old coot stuck on the hull fought it for hours with spanners and screwdrivers! The woman taken the other day was a new zealander who was celebrating the end of her cancer treatment. I guess the grim reaper comes in many forms...
