Plucky1 1,119
I attended the play off final Sunday as a neutral guest of the F.A, this was my 3rd final in 3 weeks and Wembley truly is a top class venue, I was really appalled at the behaviour of the Millwall fans on the day and thought all the mindless hooliganism, violence, etc was gone from the game,I normally stay over in the Wembley Hilton but this Sunday I travelled down with an official from Cheshire FA as my guest,we drove down to take the train from Stanmore on the "jubilee line" and on the train were fans from both sides, I enjoyed a laugh and exchanged pleasantries with families both sides of me,upon arriving at Wembley park stadium we got off the train to a massive noise from fans of Millwall surrounding the station, my guest and I came out the station with both lots of fans and couldn't believe the change in what had been mild mannered men of 50 odd years of age,on the train they had been normal but upon getting among their own fans lost all sanity, shouting "f*ck off you northern c*nts, you're f*cking dead you tw*ts,etc" I couldn't believe the change in what appeared to be decent folk, all the way up to the entrance of the stadium they took every chance to abuse and barrack the Barnsley fans, it was like going back to the 80's,football has come a long way since then and I can't believe the aura of intimidation they were projecting towards Barnsley fans who were mostly families, women and children should not have to put up with that kind of treatment in todays modern game, they were showered in beer from cans and had all kinds of rubbish thrown at them. I had attended the Grimsby final the week before and fans from Forest Green and Grimsby were mingling freely before the game and it was played out in the same manner, a great day out for everyone, I don't really get what the air of intimidation and guttural roaring, abuse etc is supposed to do for an already bad reputation that Millwall carry, whats the future for a club with fans that carry on like that ????? WM i think its there scared to loose that reputation they gained over the years , bloody hell they were some real bad scrapes in wolves when they came down, and wolves were no push overs either. its men who have not or dont wont to grow up . i am 63 and to see men 50 years of age acting like 20 year olds is wank really is
Plucky1 1,119
Hello Bird, I am a Liverpool fan and have followed them since the 60's,seen all that sh*t come and happily go, the one thing I found when following them was the ones with the biggest mouths were the biggest sh*thouses on their own, I will fight anyone on a 1 to 1 basis and do not suffer fools but have never bullied or intimidated women and kids and do not need a gang to back me up, those days are gone in football now, I attend a lot of games in all leagues during the season from the national league right up to the premiership and thankfully I do not see very much of this behaviour, there were 2 Barnsley fans stabbed above where I was sitting (cup presentation area) and fans from Millwall all came running round to fight old men above me, I hope there will be sanctions against them to play home games behind closed doors, they will not last as a club if they do not get control over the mindless idiots pretending to be fans,WM
lanesra 3,994
I took my son to an FA Cup semi final at old Trafford a few yrs ago Arsenal v Middlesboro , after the game I headed the way the Boro fans headed for my lift , this 1 bloke actually started becoming really aggressive towards me for no other reason than he knew / thought I was unable to do anything as I had my young son with me , I told him to go back o where arsenal fans where as there'd be plenty be willin to fight you , got to situation I thought Fukc this told my lad to stay where he was & this Fukcer was going to have to back his mouth up , couple of decent Boro lads had clocked this clown & the situation stepped in and sorted him out . . This is the tactics of a bully and I Guarentee he'd not of said a word to me if I hadn't been in his mind vulnerable havin a child with me . . just-A-snap 1,269
Today's Millwall fans will always try to emulate those of the 1970s, the rest of the football community encourages it, by never letting Millwall forget their Past. Millwall have always produced good teems with good players. Every now and then it finds in its hands a few diamonds, they are quickly sold. You will be very hard pushed to find more loyal fans in any part of the UK. All that is needed is for them to find owners who are willing to spend stupid amount of money, that is now I am sorry to say today's football. Maybe then Millwall can progress to becoming fully part of the Money Grasping Thieves who have taken over the game. Violence to my mind has no part in today's football, it had its part in the 1970s everywhere in Football at Home and Abroad. People it seems have forget the apathy and divided country we had then. But then Football is no longer the peoples game. Good luck to you Bansley and to all your fans. Hope to see both of us progress, from a Fifty Nine year old ex 1970s Hooligan, Millwall Supporter. All the best
tatsblisters 9,586
Two lads I work with from Barnsley who support the team gave Wembley a miss with their familys due to it being millwall they were playing .Its a sad state of affairs when you don't want to take your kids to a football match for fears for their safety.
yorkshire 151
Total bunch of twats , stabbing folk and creating around families has never been acceptable behaviour not in any decade. I can't work out why some of the old respected heads don't get some order? Letting lads stabb and bully families is not on .

But it happens outside of football every Friday night in almost every Town Centre. The World is Full of Twats. Most of us do not get to see it any more thank The Good Lord. Bunnyblatter 1,012
The FA and Millwall have said anyone identified will get life bans. Let's hope they back this up. I can't understand why they can't win and lose in a better manner than wanting to kick off all the time. They've got a fairly decent team and in the long run the team and club could suffer through them having sanctions imposed

All the best Nobody on here said it was acceptable , my post was not directed at you or a reply to yours , just my opinion . I enjoyed the 70s 80s football and the culture that went with it. It never included the bullying towards families .following football has changed, families and lads end up sat together . Have a meet and a fallout but do it away from families having a day out at Wembley .
