johnny boy68 11,726
I saw the footage for the first time this morning. Looks, to me, like the gorilla was taking better care of the child than his mother was ! Gorillas are generally very gentle, despite their enormous size, and if he was going to hurt the child, he had plenty of time to do it ! Very sad really ! So you would be perfectly happy if one of your kids/grandkids were in with the gorilla then?

Kay 3,709
the parents are damned if they do ... damned if they dont... can you imagine the uproar if the mother had dragged the kid kicking and screaming and smacked his arse ... folks would have been calling for the child to be taken into protective custody and the electric chair for the parents .. its staggering the amount of bile being spewed over the shooting of this gorilla ... get over it... it happened .. move on give it a week and all these arm chair eco warriers will have forgotten all about '' justice for harambe ''

Plenty of eye witnesses said that it wasn't all sweetness and cuddles.

Plenty of eye witnesses said that it wasn't all sweetness and cuddles. I'm going by the word of primate experts (that's neither you nor me), who says that the gorilla presented no threat to the boy. What I do know about gorillas is that they are not nearly as dangerous as most people believe, and they rely on their size to intimidate, rather than actually use physical violence. And I stand by the belief that it was probably unnecessary to kill the animal.

So going by your above post I'll ask again.....would you have been ok with you're kids/grandkids being in that enclosure? Or are you fine jumping on the same bandwagon that went through this place with Cecil the lion?

Deker 3,478
Parents should be able to check their kids As should teachers with kids in their class ect That's half the problem with today's youth They answerable to know one But that's another topic of conversation I suppose. Indeed, and if a child was off on a school trip being supervised by a teacher and this happened, the parents would be blaming the teacher/school big time! But obviously in this case the parents are blameless and its someone else's fault!
