bird 9,872
Tbh let's face it, all that was needed was a couple of beddyxwhippets to hand and they'd've had that gorilla throated in a blink of an eye joking apart mate, wonder if they sent some hounds in to it, maybe the could have got the child out then , while it was being distracted with the hounds, but it may have held on to the child all the while, sad ending but human before a animal is the only way really .
tillylamp 1,830
Not to trivialise it.......but i wonder if the gorilla would of reacted the same if it had been a white kid ?.......i dont mean was it a racist gorilla.... i just mean would a white skinned child have been in more danger than a black skinned child in the mind of a gorilla ? no, i don't think it would have made any difference, years ago there was another young white kid fell in a gorilla run, and that gorilla (jambo) just sat there stroking the kids back in a concerned way whilst he layed unconscious, and protected the kid from the other gorillas, when the kid came to, his cries scared of the gorillas, jambo led the others away to there pen, then the people got to the kid, but there was no aggression from the gorilla towards the white kid,
Mickey Finn 3,011
Very sad all around. The little one had told his Mother previously that he was going to get into the Gorilla pen. I fault the Mother alone.

stevo79 569
I personally think it was wrong purely from the conservational point of view, silverbacks are quite rare whereas the world is full of four year old brats. That made me laugh?
tomburras 2,730
Maybe better to tranqualize the gorilla and got ready to shoot at once if it started to cause cause harm? Then it would have had a chance at least?
terryd 8,409
maybe they didnt want to risk agitating it

forest of dean redneck 11,589
I nearly spat my tea out when I read racist gorillas ,pmsl You can get a little backpack that goes on the kid with strap that you hold onto handy to put kids nappy an baby wipes in. We got one as our toddler is a little sod. Not watched the vid as every time I try it stalls my iPad for some reason but on FB comments I see the mother was saying mummys here ,well where was she when the kid was climbing over or under barriers.?
