johnny boy68 11,726
4 year old kid being dragged around by a gorilla, gorilla gets shot as it should. Could've, should've, would've is by the by here, a child was in danger so it's a no brainer for me, Harambe the silverback is now headline news and I can live with that rather than hearing a child is dead because of some bodies negligence.
keepdiggin 9,567
it was only a nigglet as well ffs!
mackay 3,458
I personally think it was wrong purely from the conservational point of view, silverbacks are quite rare whereas the world is full of four year old brats.

DogFox123 1,379
Gorillas are surprisingly placid despite their looks, it wouldn't have killed the boy or seriously hurt him in my opinion.

Not wanting an argument DF if it was your child in there, and you had the rifle what would you have done? I know what I would have done, 300 win mag straight in the head. Then smacked the little sods arse so hard the next time he seen a gorilla he would run in the opposite direction. That would have been right after I had just kicked the mother from one end of the zoo to the other.

Had the water been a concrete bottomed pit instead of a water pit doesn't bear thinking about.never see kids with these in anymore..I see mother's most days giving young kiddy's a good telling of most mornings for stepping out in front of cars. And what do the cost!! Next to nothing..
neems 2,406
It was dragging the lad round like a rag doll, intentional or not he'd have probably killed the lad. The parents are retards and 100% to blame, but the Gorilla had to die.
vixen 528
If you read this link the gorilla was smashing the child off a wall and throwing him around, the keeper even said the child was in danger of his life, they show a bit of a video of it touching a child's hand and everyone gets a fairy story that it was protecting him, did no one see it dragging him off by the leg? Obviously they didn't show the video where it was being aggressive to the baby as that's when they had to shoot it, whether you think the parents were to blame or not....The zoo should have 100% secure enclosures to stop this happening. http://www.wpxi.com/news/trending-now/gorilla-attacks-child-who-fell-into-cincinnati-zoo-enclosure/308678969
gnasher16 30,594
Not to trivialise it.......but i wonder if the gorilla would of reacted the same if it had been a white kid ?.......i dont mean was it a racist gorilla.... i just mean would a white skinned child have been in more danger than a black skinned child in the mind of a gorilla ? Lab 10,979
Would like to see some of the folk worried about the gorilla be calm in that situation. If there was a gun handy id be shooting it myself if that was my wee boy...no debate!!! It's a shame that the gorilla had to die....but it did. Now the Zoo gets bollocked for a parents mind slip. Shit all round!!!
torchey 1,328
Even if the kid was on its own for a fortnight theres no way it shouldve found its way into a pen with a f***ing gorilla...
