jiggy 3,209
Wales and ireland lost their last games and the fans sang the national anthems when they were leaving the pitch england fans booed their team off the field if you treat your team like warriors maybe they will act like it. If you brought your kid to play football games and kicked him in the face every time he lost eventually he would be standing on the pitch like a bag of nerves waiting to see where the next kick will come from so give him a pat on the back every now and then and dont expect too much.In that case it all goes back to expectation then, Rightly or wrongly As great as it was Wales severely over delivered, no one would of guessed a semi final place before the tournament and they were cheered off the pitch and arrived home to a heroes welcome. Only a few of that Welsh team would command a place in the top sides I Europe, and that's what is so good about the achievement. Of course it's frustrating watching a team like England who judging by the players alone should achieve so much more, when you have 2 of the top scorers in the prem, Chelsea and Utds first choice centre backs, Rooney who's stats speak for themselves, plus some of the so called best young talent in Europe all playing week in week out in one of if not the best leagues in the world and looking class for the their clubs, yeah it's a bit frustrating... But you're right in some ways, if we expected a little less and applauded them even when they play like shit, perhaps we'd all be a bit happier !! Lol i understand your frustration ireland get battered more times than they win but we never boo them robbie keane scored over 60 goals for ireland and even if he was a good player he would struggle to make a top 4 premier league team but he would die for his country and always plays better for country than club because he loves it and they love him. England have the best individual players in the world and always have for the last 50 years so its not the manager they have had several its not the tactics you cant get it wrong every time in your opinion what are they lacking i would say passion and they do love their country but fear of been ridiculed Edited July 12, 2016 by jiggy
gnasher16 30,062
Yeah he wouldn't be a bad shout, apart from what's he done for the last 10 or 15 years? Bit of punditry He,s had his academy for young English players running for a while now, been watching football all over the world......you only need to listen to him to realise he knows the game he,s also well respected and recommended for the job by a lot of managers.....has one of the best win rates of any England manager and wasnt even booted for footballing reasons...... teams from different parts of the world are playing different styles of football do we really want one of the names above whos only experience is of the English premier league.......after all lets face it names like Allardyce/Bruce/Dyche/Howe are really scraping the barrel im not even sure its seen as a full time job i dont think it necessarily suits someone used to the day in day out life of league football.
Bosun11 537
Cant believe im saying it but i actually think Allardyce would probably be a safe pair of hands......he is a manager that clubs who are completely on their arse look to and in fairness he usually gets them back on their feet.......whether we like it or not our national team is completely on its arse.....nobody wants Allardyce turning up as you know you,ve hit rock bottom but we have hit rock bottom so best we start being honest about it. He'd be the last person I'd want BUT I can see the logic in that post.... I'd trust Allardyce to steadily improve on things, more than any other name... And in me writing that it brings home all the more how bad things really are...

Exactly we had him when we hit rock bottom at West Ham and he got us back on our feet as he,s done wherever he,s been.....obviously you move him on when your back on the level again and get someone better in and thats exactly how England could play it.......just as long as they dont come knocking for my SuperSlav
green lurchers 16,622
Gnasher; I don't agree that England are on their arse. The team is basically sound, but the tactics employed by Woy let them down. Just my opinion of course. We,ve been saying that sort of thing for 25 years mate......for reasons nobody seems to know we cannot get it right at International level this is the lowest point ive known with England we couldnt of had a better draw for a tournament yet we f****d it again........at what point do you say hang on a minute. The only name that really springs out and appeals to me for the job is Glenn Hoddle. hoddle would be the man for the job in my book above any else,

Malt 379
I think it would be genuinely interesting to see how he does with players of a higher caliber. Of course if it all went Tits up it wouldn't be any skin off my nose!

bracken boy 584
With Sam u get a big growl on sidelines with him showing some passion and letting his players know if he's not happy so for me if we don't see that the the f.a have had a word to calm him down and that's when we are fooooked , let him manage the team.
