Neville is still young and I think one for the future, he needs to find some success and get some "good" experiences under his belt, I like him and think he talks a lot of sense, he knows the game inside out but his disastrous time in Spain and this recent England experience will have taken it's toll.

Would like to see him go back a step personally to move forward, a more natural progression in management would be good for him I think, but certainly one for the future IMO

Redknapp shouldv'e been the man, he done a great job at Spurs and was prime for the move, never understood why he never got it.

Of the English managers at the top now who would you pick?

Alan Pardew?? seems to have a good rapport with the players, but I'm not sure he's got the nous for it.

Sam Allardyce?? Max may have a point, he gets results by hook or by crook, don't like his style of play personally, but I suppose it's a very English way..

Steve Bruce?? steady manager, loads of experience now but doesn't do enough for me.

Eddie Howe?? definitely one for the future, I like the way his side plays, to keep them up last year without breaking the bank and by playing a bit of decent football shows he knows how to manage, few years away for me personally..

British

Mark Hughes?? was doing a decent job at Man City before he was shafted, got Stoke playing decent football, he's a decent manager IMO plus he's Welsh and those boys have it sussed lol

Ryan Giggs?? no not yet not done any thing.... but alongside Neville??...... no I'm talking shit!! lol

Brendan Rodgers?? he had that Liverpool side playing great football, but Suarez f****d off and it was deemed a one man team, a bit harsh maybe but the truth was they looked crap after...

Or do you go foreign??

Personally i dont think foreign managers should be allowed simple as that......my only leaning towards Neville would be that he is a blank canvas who with a long contract we could actually show some loyalty and support to whereby players and staff all move forward together its not like we have a successful side who just need careful guidance we need to start again from the top down at international level.......Bruce,Allardyce,Pardew are all gap fillers why dont we do something positive and refreshing for a change......apart from him Hoddle would be my only other choice we did well under him and he was outed for non football reasons we wasted him as a player it would be a shame to waste him as a manager.

I don't buy into the build them up to knock them down theory either, I do however think the vast majority of England fans are very unrealistic.

I know they are the England team but honestly, let's call a spade a spade, they have been a f***ing discrace at some point in nearly every major tournament for the last f**k knows how many years.

If they were a dog, you would shoot them no matter how much you loved the breeding.

I used to go down the hammers and pretty much know we were in for a pasting, it was just the manner in which we took it that would be the talking point of the day.......but if they were shit, lads said they were shit.

So it's two fold IMHO, England fans don't stop to think of how poor we are and build up unrealistic hopes then when it all gos boss eyed they take it out on the team instead of saying "well, I was just being silly"

The other is, the players do f**k all to make you love em.....just like that dog that you thought would be a world beater and wound up a wanker.

Are fans unrealistic.....or is our media ?......ive been to many international games and tournaments over the years ive never come across many delusional fans with unrealistic goals..........its the tv and papers i find the silly shit comes from and as fans we cant control that.

No wonder I don't like football. two yellow cards for primadonna's diving after the tackle. Yet one of the welsh player being held back by the shirt does not even warrant a penalty. Fecking stupid game.

Could,nt agree more...there are plenty of home bred managers that could certainly do as good a job if not better than some of these imports that seem to have jobs thrown at them. Look in our own back yards ....for youngsters to bring on through the ranks...and managers as well...fellas that know how the home nations play football and will try to nurture that not go in exactly the opposite direction.
