johnny boy68 11,726
England were a class above us yesterday, we were always in with a chance with Bale and the free kick proved that. Ramsey ran himself into the ground for us, we were hanging in there until you brought young Rashford on but I thought his fresh legs dragged us around a bit when he came on. Rooney was excellent again, man of the match for me. Well done England. Onwards and upwards(hopefully) against Russia for us now, let's just enjoy the ride.
frankel 2,123
Was a good game to watch, I'm pleased I took Half a day at work now... Rooney done ok yeah, a lot of his passes are sideways and backwards though... Lallana best player on pitch imo, always creative on the ball, and his work rate off the ball was class. But when we both got the likes of teams like italy to play against , thats when we both come unstuck but all the British teams have done great so far

I thought Ramsey was excellent, works his socks off plus can play a bit too (wouldn't mind seeing him in a UTD shirt!!). Hart was at fault for the goal, but what a strike from Bale, I just don't think he had enough of the ball in open play plus England closed his space quickly, but he too works his socks off, really like his commitment, maybe a super star but still happy to graft. Like you say England have a bit more quality, and I thought Llana and Rooney were both very good again. Rooneys corners, freekicks way better than Kanes (why did he take them all in the first game??) Sturridge looked good when he came on. Vardy done what Vardy does, keep him going now. Rashford will give any team problems at the minute, he's playing without care, great to see for such a young lad, real prospect here by the looks of it. Englands defence will get pulled around by a better side, it's great to watch these fullbacks flying down the wing, but can the hold position and defend when required?? Should both get out of the group now, with a bit of luck, think England could improve as we go, no more for Sterling, Kane could struggle to get back in, still think Wilshere's going to play a part, I like the way he plays. Plus any side is beatable this year by the looks of it, we aren't that far behind, Germany were average last night against an average side, France play in patches, but have some real quality going forward, Belgium didn't click at all (they were favourites I think??) could kick on but England are in the mix for a bit yet I reckon As Max would say.... Nicepix 5,650
Soon as tipping point back on the better.. Have you noticed they favour those of the ginger fraternity? I think it is discrimination against non gingers! Back to the footy. Lalana seems to play better for England than his club. He's been great the last two matches. For me though the star of the show is Walker. He's like two players in one. Back in defence he's sound as a pound then up front he's like an extra winger and always willing to take players on. Spot on, if it was an Italian or German performing like Rooney in the last 2 games everyone would be pissing right up their back, but Rooney gets stick. Or at least reluctant praise, yes he might come unstuck against better opposition, but he hasn't put a foot wrong yet. I mentioned Wilshere earlier, although I really rate Ali I'd like to see Wilshere have at least a half in that role. Would keep with Vardy and Sturridge from the start now instead of Kane and Sterling (who's been awful). The big surprise for me has been Llana, always looked a real skillful player but his work rate and commitment to add to the skill has been great.
