ryaldinhio 4,562
I have dogs but not lurchers. I think any man can put a price to suit his dogs and him. If I was shifting lurcher pups I would think nothing of asking 2-300+ for them for any that didnt go to mates. At the end of the day I would give the new owner 1-200 quid back when they collected, therefore takin 100quid per pup. That way Id know it wasnt just some tw*t after a cheap pup. 1 Quote Link to post

Someone sold some pups on here a few years back. I'm sure they were £300 with £200 back on the pups first birthday. Or a similar insentive, I liked the sound of that. Might help pursuade the lads who don't keep a dog for more than 5 mins to stay away. 3 Quote Link to post

jeemes 4,483
When you sell something its no longer yours. All this giving money back in twelve months, what a load of shite. If your that worried about the dog, well then dont sell it. All I would ask someone is if you dont want it please give me first refusal if you want to get rid otherwise you can put it on the barbecue if your hard up. Nobody wishes to put a dog in a bad home but its the risk you take when you sell a dog.If you cant live with that then dont breed. I suspect though that some people like to sound off on here like they are doctor dolittle and it looks good in print, but thats about it. Its mostly talk. Ive heard a lot of great plans about litters but go back in 6 or 8 weeks and mostly they cant wait to get shut of them because theyre driving them up the wall. 8 Quote Link to post

storm323 191
Selling to people you don't know I think should be 150 to 200 ! And hope they get good homes ! Always different with friends and money tho! How you ain't sold all this litter so early on I don't know ? But still early doors to worry about !! Quote Link to post
logan 447
As said £150 -£200 But if I had the feeling they'd get worked hard and the lad was a decent sort ,or it was a mate who recommended them I'd probably give for free under the understanding it comes back to me or I get a say where it goes if they can't keep. A few days out or knowing how the pup is doing would be plenty of payment. Trouble is it's not always repaid,so makes you wonder if it's worth helping lads out . I'd certainly pay more than that if I really want a pup though . So put the price on them that's a middle ground between keeping messers away and good lads interested ,and keep a few close and hope for a pup or stud back in the future. took the words out of my mouth, Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,288
My hunting as totally changed to what it once was & both Don & Swift who were purpose bred lamp dogs have had their better days but i will probably try & mate the pair this summer & keep one dog pup back just for the sake of having a dog with the blood in it that I've kept now for over 30 years,it's highly unlikely it will get to see a fraction of what it's parents, grandparents etc seen but still it will have a good life & see some graft..if the mating goes ahead I've promised one or two pups as gifts, the rest if there are any will be sold & won't be for peanuts.. if they sell then they will if not i will put them to sleep..i've worked them dogs & worked them hard as i did there grandparents & great grandparents,i have taken many risks in doing so,travelled hundreds of thousands of miles in my quest to test them over the years..i aint no puppy peddlar,I've not bred a litter here since 1999 so not into it for money or id of bred plenty of litters since then..I've bought well bred pups for good money from hard working parents & had no issue doing so,if you "really" want something paying for it doesn't come into it..id not be fussed if no one bought a pup, almost solely i kept the old Minshaw types alive for 20 years when no one else did,I don't mind if that's what happened again lol 6 Quote Link to post
