philpot 5,010
To be completely honest Si, until I can put up a half decent group, I don't think it is worth bothering about pellet tests because I am not good enough yet. I tried some FAP today which looked quite good but with only a 15mt garden, it is not really not long enough to draw any conclusions. I am popping over to the RFD tomorrow who has a 25mt range so I may have a better idea then. I read that a springer should perform better with a light pellet than anything else but don't know if that is true. I have about 10 tins of different pellet types to play with but thought I would wait until after I met up with Mac and Simon to get them to try the rifle and see what they can do with it in terms of groups because whilst I am getting a little better, they are far better than me by a mile or two. mattwhite 1,993
My envy of your groups is not fading very much Matt but I confess to an improvement in my groups using the trigger sticks with my TX but alas not in the same league as you yet, I will however master this bloody springer if it kills me Phil There are better shots on here than me Phil. You should see some of the target cards that I don't post pictures of.....shameful! All my target shooting is done either off a pod or with the tx on a beanbag or something to absorb the recoil so I can get a true zero. I was very pleased with the groups with the 100 from the sticks but the first couple of cards were messy I can tell you and they will take some getting used to with the tx. It's just practice pal. We've been spoilt with pcp's so we just need to shoot as much as possible with the springers to get those groups nice and tight??? Quote Link to post
foxtrotoscar 35
I bought myself a set of the tripod sticks a few months back and I cannot believe how much they've improved my accuracy over further ranges. They are expensive, but well worth the cost. Another use I find is they make a great prop for holding up slack barbed wire whilst I limbo under, rather than catching my balls straddling over it!
