Jake w 232
Anyone recommend a better silencer than the ones that comes on them I know they are real real good but if I can improve it I will do? Cheers Jake w Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Personally I think the standard HW mod is the best for those 80's mate. With a screw cut thread you do have a wide selection of choice though. Not sure if any has tried a 300 quid specialist moderator on one or any rifle the same price as the part. The thing with springers, and you'll know this, is it will never really be silent with all the mechs going on inside, even if you do find a ultra quiet front end. Mint choice of rifle though. Nice one. 1 Quote Link to post

Underdog 2,337
The other thing is, when you connect with what your shooting at there is a lot of noise made there! Unless it is a special target holder! Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Keep it standard inside mate, and the best moderator in the world wont quieten it significantly, now have a listen to a Walther lgv/lgu with a moderator fitted, almost pcp quiet, the reason? They have done such a good job of the internals, that the crack at the muzzle is much louder than the gubbins inside, not the case I am afraid with any standard HW springer, as much as I do like the , a really good tune is the only way to get the noise down significantly, dont waste your money on another mod, it wont make any noticable difference. 3 Quote Link to post
Underdog 2,337
The best way to hush the gumming inside an is to make a bespoke from solid a spring guide to match the spring. 1 Quote Link to post
threelander 81
put a TBT in kit in the with the short stroke extension on the piston (simple 2 minute job) and a Ian Blade Newman moderator and it will toatally transform your trust me 1 Quote Link to post
dayglowfrog 56
I have the tbt kit and short stroke on mine with a massive whopa silencer makes it a very quiet gun . For me it's the difference between setting off the neighbours dogs or not. 1 Quote Link to post
threelander 81
how do you find the short stroke ??Do you find it smooths the gun out a lot and makes for a lot faster shot cycle ?? Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
I am with CC on this . I have tried different mods from named brand to home built ones and imo HW mod is one of the best if not the best We all hear different any how and it depends when testing mods which way the wind is blowing . My mate wanted to try a different mod on his r10 ,i stood to the left of him with the wind coming from the left and the standard bsa mod seem really quiet , then stood to the right of him and it sounded a lot louder ,so beware of this when testing 1 Quote Link to post
dayglowfrog 56
Hi short stroke and tbt does calm the gun down alot it will never be a 99 but it does make it a bit more mild manored . 1 Quote Link to post
