gnasher16 30,281
I despair at times seeing/hearing how some parts of GB are turning out, it must be gut wrenching watching your once proud communities being turned into third world shit holes. I really feel for you and your future generations. I've just been to my lads sports day and apart from the token indian boy Jazz and I think 2 polish kids everybody else was white/welsh, everybody that was there were mixing and chatting, a real sense of community. Community spirit as always been big around here and I think that as been one of the over-riding factors to keeping our area as it as always been. Hopefully it'll continure being the same. I'd imagine community spirit and unity was strong in a lot of areas that are now shit holes but were slowly eroded away for the Utopia that is multi-culturism. Genuine question to you mate.........i dont know your exact location but your somewhere in the Welsh outback i presume Do you have any fears whatsoever for your own area when you see a program like that ?......you say yourself you have the odd 2 or 3 outsiders within a close community......but with cities becoming more and more full and communities in towns and villages becoming more and more divided how long can you see your area being predominantly white/welsh ? London overspill in the surrounding counties of Essex/Herts/Kent/Surrey is showing big change in those areas......how long until changes start to occur beyond that......how far can we run we,re an island ! Yes mate I really do fear that our way of life will become a distant memory and our areas unrecognisable. I only live 20 miles from Newport and that place is in some areas is desperate and the only Welsh thing left will be the post code the way its going. The citys and surrounding suburbs are are seeing big influxes of immigrants, certain parts of the valleys are still lucky in that respect, hopefully we can keep it for a bit longer.

It was the same when i was at school one Black kid and two indians out of a year of 350 pupils.....Black players didn't even like to play for Newcastle united we just didn't have many in this area I left school in 1988 and since then the number of ethnics has sky rocketed to the point now where its about 1/3 of the kids at my old high school are black or Asian I am also in the process of moving my Business premises from a once busy high street that served a hard working community i still do for these people but they are moving to the outskirts of town ........Now you can go a whole day without seeing anyone whos first language is English

In East London we havent been overrun by the Africans or the Asians we,ve been overrun by the world.....do folk in rural Britain really think its going to stop at the cities when we currently have foreigners moving out of cities to get away from foreigners !......like i say we are an island where can we run to.
delswal 3,819
Pull out of the EU and put a stop to all benefits for none UK citizens, see how long they want to stay without housing or benefits. Why the feck would anybody in the right mind encourage people to come here just to house them and give them free benefits

king 11,984
I just finished watching this program on catch up. To say it's shocking is an understatement once them original eastenders are gone.they are gone for ever.there will never be that sence of community or feeling of belonging to a community. It seems like the young are moving out and you can't blame them.but the older folk are sticking it out.but once they are deceased that way of life will be only in books fecking shocking. Just like the valleys and the miners.the working mens club would have about 100 + men in there on a Saturday afternoon.you walk in there now on a Saturday and be lucky to see 5 men.and no chance at all of spotting an old man with black scars on face or hands from coal dust which was a normal sight years ago.theres no coloured people here they are very thin on the ground.my lads school has 1 coloured kid from the corner shop.i can't imagine the white kids being the minority in the school.i see the same thing watching the eastend programme an old traditional way of life is going before our very eyes and there's not much that can be done to stop it.its the same for loads of places in Britain but feck all is being done to stop it.its sad and also scary how great Britain is changing. If the place has changed that much in 15 yrs what's it gonna be like in another 15yrs.

Mister Gain 1,764
I haven't watched this program, and do not intend to. I don't need to watch it to see what is happening in and around London as it has been happening, to my knowledge, for the last 45-50 years, gradually at first and then gaining momentum and it will continue. I see Canning Town mentioned in this thread and other than passing through there a few times I can't really comment as I am not really familiar on how it has evolved. I do however live just over 4 miles from Canning Town, south of the river, and can comment on my particular area. I live quite near to Well Hall, Eltham, and it was very rare to see a foreigner in the 60's and 70's other than passing through. We had one novelty mauritian lad at my school, but you never saw foreigners around the streets or in the local watering holes at night. If you wanted to see one you had to go to Lewisham or Catford, Woolwich or Plumstead. Skip forward 40 years, after I moved back to the area, and in the wake of the Stephen Lawrence incident, it was noticeable that the area was changing. I believe the local council didn't like this part of their borough being known as a racist area, and as younger people were getting married and moving out, the older generation was dying out and the influx of foreigners to the area started. Sadly it has grown and grown and we are seeing more all the time. They knocked down (regenerated) a local shit hole of an estate and rebuilt it, but extended it and renamed it from the ferrier to kidbrooke village and started filling it up with them. Even the local binmen referred to it as 'Little Lagos', and some of them were darkies. I've seen it mooted on this forum in the past that we should boycot using their shops, well it's far too late for that as around here you would starve, you could'nt drive around to find a different shop as you would have no petrol. My local parade of shops, post office/newsagent=asians, pharmacy=asians, a nic-nac shop=asians, chip shop=asians, a cafe type place/shit hole= an english woman whose asian husband died, wine merchant=asians, lastly there is a co-op which is generally a mixture of staff. There you have it, and it's a similar scenario at the next area of shops. Boycotting their shops should have been happening 40-50 years ago but apart from a few, it wasn't happening. Even the generation in front of me were quite happy to use them, but then I doubt they ever envisaged the scale of what we are experiencing today in and around London. There's a McDonalds not far away converted from the old Yorkshire Grey pub. You used to get the occasional bit of trouble in the pub, or the attached ballroom (the Harrogate Rooms) and the old bill were sometimes called, but between 3.30 and 4.30 every school day there are 2 coppers in attendance at the McDonalds as a preventative measure to deal with not only local schoolkids but those who bus in from Lewisham, Woolwich and Catford. Unfortunately this area is on a slippery slope. Forunately my son has fcuked off to Aussie, but there are plenty of them over there as well albeit they are about 10-15 years behind us. The trouble is, IMO, a lot of people back in the 70's and 80's were going around with their heads stuck up their arses and it was these very same people who used to tell me I had wasted my vote by voting for who I did. It wouldn't have been wasted if these people had opened their eyes and used their vote accordingly. As I say, it's too late now. Edited to add that we do still have plenty of 'whites' around here and they all speak fluent Polish. Edited May 26, 2016 by Mister Gain

Edited to add that we do still have plenty of 'whites' around here and they all speak fluent Polish. i lived up at lee for many years, i remember the yorkshire grey well, and your post is quite right. before living at lee we were in new cross and by god even in the early 70s the area was overrun. our street had nigerians, vietnamese, and jamaicans. the original immigrants were polite, grateful to be here and respectful. they tried to fit in. the vietnamese had kids who we never saw outside school, dont know what became of them all. the blacks had kids who became f***ing assholes (they were the rioters in the early 80s, not the original imigrants). then the bangladeshis started to arrive, and the pakistanis, and they were different, they werent grateful or polite or trying to fit in, they saw it as their right to be here and they were in high enough numbers to be a problem.and thats when the whites who possibly could do so started to leave S E london. have a walk down deptford high street one saturday afternoon, your eyes will be well and truly opened, i guarantee you have never seen anything like it in your life. thjeir are races/nationalities you couldnt even guess at. after the docks closed in the 70s a lot of the work was disappearing anyway (my dad was a stevedore for years) so another tie which heldpeople to the area was gone. my old dad still has a little flat up at blackhetah which is quite a nice area still, but my older sister is on the pepys estate in deptford, and my younger brother is down friendly street and the whole of that area is disgusting; frightening even in broad daylight like a scene from mad max at night. god help them all.
