I know a lad that was up here for a few years a lad I really got on with ...who was a slip at a lot of these deerhound coursing meets and his pics are in a lot of the books and his mother continues to breed one of the more famous lines of D/H ...I asked him how much pups were he said £800-£1000 ....I asked would she give me one as he knows how much I was doing with the big dogs especially at that time ... my thoughts were I would put as much in front of the hound to see if it was worth breeding from but the answer was a defiant no which showed to me the way this breed was going which its a real pity ...hopefully there are a few lads still working them hard and breeding them right as I would love to have another one day

The pups were £800-£1000 and you asked if you could have one for nothing.....you were refused so hence the breeds going the wrong way...did I miss something or are you on an alternative orbit to the rest of the planet

Aye it was good to be part of..both organised and private meeting..

Not sure what year, this was taken before digital so was early 90`s, its a film image, scanned in...it was the Border meeting in Scotland on the Lmmermuirs, it was a 32 dog stake so not sure without trolling through what the results were..

You used to get fined £5 for loose dogs, I had to pay £20 at one meeting for (accidently) slipping my dogs off walking over the hills so I could get another course, ha ha..

Good pic used to enjoy the Borders meet staying at Gifford. Is the lad on right of Peter the Army Captain?? Peter was the best judge ive seen plus a wealth of knowledge with some very good stories. My favorite combination of judge & slipper were Peter judging & Guy slipping they just seemed to have a chemistry together. Is Darren still doing the Stalking? Atb

No you didnt miss nothing ....the pups out of a working line of any breed being sold for that money told me where the breed was going and not being able to really graft one just confirmed that
