gwalchmai4110 1,757
I have been loosing hens just of late but it has been to hot to take dogs in search of the culprit. last night saw a break in the weather here in wales so I grabbed the bull by the horns (or the dog by its collar) and headed out with a few of the mutts. my plan was to attack the mass of brambles in my big wood behind the house. Anything was on the menu to be honest and it was just a chance to keep the dogs ticking over in the summer. I had with me "ffloyd", "patch" and "gin" three of my digging russels that you may have seen on the terrier forum. completing the back was one of my beagles and my two lurchers. one of which was young "thorn" who is now 8 months old and taking shape nicely. really impressed me the way she was getting stuck into cover! we put up a couple of munties and a large dog fox but they all lived to see another day! it was just a pleasure to be out. atb 11 Quote Link to post

gwalchmai4110 1,757
What size do your beagle/welshes stand? Smooth or broken coated?? they varied mate. had 6 in litter two big rough coated dogs, and two bitches that were broken coated looked like minature welsh hounds. i left them four in the hound kennels with the proper pack. i then had two small smooth coated bitches. around 20" to shoulder i suppose and i have bought them home to hunt with me beagle as more bushing dogs. great nose, love the cover so we shall see. ill get some photos up atb Quote Link to post
