When and where you can fish‘Close seasons’ are seasons when you can’t fish for some types of fish on certain types of water. For example, you can’t fish for coarse fish on any river in England and Wales from 15 March to 15 June. Reservoirs, lakes and ponds (‘enclosed stillwaters’) and canalsYou can fish for coarse fish, eels, rainbow trout and brown trout on most enclosed stillwaters and canals all year. how long has this been in place ? neil r 1,859
One or two of my club still waters still have the traditional close season and a couple more shut for a month usually may/june time but 99% of them are open year round . Its been like that for a years now . The rivers are shut to coarse fishing as it always has been though Quote Link to post
