Any Apbt Folks On Here?

Recommended Posts

There was an incident not far from where I live in NE England this week regarding a bull type. Not an APBT but looks like a Staff. The story seems to be that some silly cow took the dog to a busy public park, let the dog of the lead and then removed the muzzle that he had been wearing. The dog bit her then ran amok in the park causing panic and chaos and attacked several of the kids before some lads managed to get it on a lead and tied it to a fence. I don't know how to post pics on here but wish a did. The photo that I've seen in the local news paper of the dog tied to the fence on his own, with the people on the other side of the fence. The dog's body language screams out confusion and fear. God knows what has been done to him to make him behave the way he did. From what I have read the physical injuries to the kids weren't too bad ( any injury is totally unacceptable of course ), but the psychological effects could be longer lasting I would imagine. As for the dog, well I'm sure he's going to pay the ultimate price. This is not intended as a dig at the Bull breeds, and I don't know what caused this untypical behaviour and the breed type is irrelevant , but the media and general public will not look beyond his physical appearance. It's a shame that fools can own dogs that they are not worthy of.

that's ashame.there's bad in every breed bUT the bully breeds get it the most. And the person who took it off lead and the muzzle had to known what type of animal it was and should be punished for being ignorant and stupid..I don't care what kind of breed you have, and if you know you have a dog that could be harmful to others you need to be responsible and if your not you should get in trouble for it. Now that dog is gonna be put down because of some being irresponsible. Now who's fault is it? Sad

Saw the item on the news just now and as sorry as I am for the children involved in the incident I couldn't help my eyes being drawn to the dog tied up on the fence. I wish everyone a speedy recovery who were involved

I think it's a good thing their banned they ended up in the wrong hands over here and many paid the price with their own children never mind the other family's they destroyed . Seemed like every drug dealer had one bit of a ego thing

One of the best dogs ive ever owned around kids, she,d not let any stranger approach the kids,a curled lip and snarl was sufficient.I remember my daughter at less than 18 months of age torturing the mutt endlessly, pulling, tugging and poking it,the dog rolled over and never once showed any aggressive inclination.I know the type you associate the breed with, many a mutt they owned was more American KC than anything else.

Had 2,American bulldogs and a rotty like that. ,if parents got good temperaments then hopefully it passes down, people buy stuff poorly bred keep it shut out in a skanky back yard, then boot it around then wonder why dogs twitchy ,mate it to another dog the same and then markets swamped with poorly bred shite to pay for the their lifestyle.

Theres well bred on paper (pretty pedigree hangers) and well bred for work . Horses for courses the UK is full of aresholes when it comes to the bulldog strain i can think of the genuine working folk on one hand. Ive had many of well bred dog from proven stick that ive seen with my own eyes but it means nothinf . My honest opinion and ill stand by it the bulldog is best for what it was bred for and thats working . Ive never owned any other breed of dog or animal in that case that gives me the satisfaction that a bulldog has over the years .
