Big Enough Grand Vitara??

Recommended Posts

Im looking at getting a bigger 4x4 as the jimnys 1.3 engine just isnt big enough for motorway journeys. Theres a 2l grand vitara come up but im not sure if the boot will be big enough for 2 lurchers?? Jimny boot size is brilliant as i took the seats out but i also need back seats now.

I've just got a vitara, it's cosy but I get two labs and black fluffy happy thing in back of mine.. If I had to travel far with the tho , think the seats would be coming down

have you checked out the XL7 model. I've got one, 2.0 td, and without the back seats down its big and with them down its massive. good 4 wheel drive too, goes most places

Yeh thats just a little too long for my liking. Think it's gonna be a the newer vitara model.

I had one a 2000 model 2.0 l td bloody brilliant went anywhere really comfy got 75 rabbits in the boot one night but the boot was small

Not bad on juice either only parted with it because some somalian taxi driver wrote it off when he drove straight into me ( after I spent 500 quid on welding and painting) that was my only gripe was the body work but engine was great

Going to look at a 2.0hdi Vitara later 2001 model, how often do the cam belts need doing on these & how much is it at a garage to do it. Another things to look out for?

Have you considered a Nissan xtrail?, theyve got a very good size boot and from the road tests ive seen theyre better off road than all the other 'soft roaders'.

They're a good compromise, I used mine for towing the quad and trailer but would need road tyres changing for any more than light off road use.

Cheers, D.
