Just decided to tung oil her

 

she will be left for an hour then wiped off then left until tomorrow morning and more oil put on her but im well happy with the result

Brilliant job Jimmy. If I had seen this before you started, I would have told you about a glue called Caskamite used by the trade, dries rock hard and is very very strong. It is a while since I have had any of the stuff and don't actually know if it is still available but amazing stuff all the same.

im just chuffed it turn,d out ok

 

its rock solid now ,so it should be ok for the bairn and iv fix,d the auto safety to so should not happen again

 

touch wood lol :laugh:

 

got her back together now she will just need a little rub over with some oil in the morning

Crumbs, I used Cascamite in woodwork at school, a quick look suggests it may have been reformulated, but who knows, it has certainly been re-packaged, they didn't have plastic containers when I was at school! :laugh::thumbs:

I don't know what you do for a job Jimmy but what ever it is your wasted at at it pal.

You should be doing this for a living.

Can you get a kit to smooth the action out on the longbow just to help out a bit more?

Iv never looked into it but i may give it a polish any way as that often smooths them out
