islayhawk 0
I can sympathise. Cleaned out hutch two days ago - it was ok. Yesterday she was great - eating ok, lively. My best little ferret. This morning- dead!. Like yours, she was two years old. My other ferret which is in a separate hutch is ok. I have always had ferrets and I have lost some in the past but they have shown some kind of illness. But not this one. I cannot understand it. I have buried her beside my old whippet 'Misty' Quote Link to post
ferretville 69
Sorry at your loss richie had to take my jill to the vets last week chest infection . She was fine at the night time but in the morning she was coughing and weezing. Just happened so quickly she is fine now but it just goes to show how quick things can change. All the best FV Quote Link to post
richie 1
ISLAYHAWK let me return my sympathy... its a horrid feeling seeing one of your workers/pets dead, not something i want to make a habit of. FERRETVILLE the same as your situation, the night before when i went in to feed them she was as good as gold, the next, dead.. im genuinely glad yours made a full recovery. i took my remaining 5 ferrets to the vet for a check up, pulse, temperature & a visual check & they have a clean bill of health. ive decided to get all 5 vaccinated for distemper, got them booked in next week. any precaution i can take ill do. prevention is better than cure !. richie Quote Link to post
