I can only think of two attacks on British soil carried out by Islamic extremists. The 7/7 bombings and Lee Rigby's murder. Am I missing some? Because two in the last 20 years is hardly numerous? Sure there's been more than two attacks by Irish Republicans on British soil in the last 20 years.
