grompz 703
might sound as a silly question, but just got the bill from vets for these injections, and noticed that the first jab for this was feb 14th,she told me to bring the dog back on 27th feb for another jab,did this thinking it was for something else, looking at the bill she has charged me twice for the same innoculation on these dates, just wondering is this right why innoculate for the same thing twice in the space of 2 weeks, charged me18 pounds on each occasion,is this right.
socks 32,253
Yep the jabs are split in two and if you only paid £36 in total you had a good deal .........

LaraCroft 863
Animals need 2 jabs a few weeks apart to boost the immune system - if you only get one, they are unlikely to then be immune. If you do them twice within a few weeks, then do a couple of annual boosters, then the chances are the animal is immune for life afterwards. A single jab is no guarantee of the dog being immune. Gaz_1989 9,539
I've always done the 2 courses of Jabs at vets as pups but not bothered with the annual boosters. Touch wood never any problems. But I don't frequently walk where every man and his dog goes. Most of my mooching is out of the way.

trigger2 3,145
its been said above just the one jab will do the job. i keep my dogs upto date with there boosters just incase i want a holiday with the misses and kids and need to put my dogs in kennels during that time. treatment for kennel cough is another load of bollocks aswell.
Greyman 28,441
When you have your kids vaccinated, it's a once in a lifetime deal, that's because it's free and there is know financial gain to the doctor, if on the other hand the doctor was paid extra for each jab I,m sure the kids would be in for a booster every year, once you have an immunity to something your immune, it's all about the money

Most of my mooching is out of the way. thats it gaz, its where you take them, if alot of dogs go there your got more chance of picking something up . mine get the booster as i go fair it where other dog walkers use its common ground . even if you go down by the rivers you meet other dog walkers, suppose you can just walk the fields and have farmers on your back, have enough of that in the winter/night, so use common ground its easier , but as you say you got to keep on top of the jabs
