The French refer to 'tadpoles' as the much smaller poison chat, an invasive nuisance species that averages around 2 - 3oz and swims in vast shoals. When they are very young they resemble tadpoles in size and the fact that they cluster together on the bottom in shallow water. I see them regularly around the end of May through early June and if I can I'll net them out and leave them on the bank to die. This is the lighter coloured version, they are usually almost black........... A fish of 3oz will take a 20mm boilie and usually they swim in shoals of many hundreds, making some carp fishing venues somewhat challenging 2 Quote Link to post
