FUJI 17,327
Had myself a few days up Scotland this week, the weather has been & still is AMAZING!! I took my pup Mario just to spend a bit of time with him without the other lurchers been around, obviously he wasn't alone Ruby came too lol..we had a great time,we climbed a Munro in Ben Lomond a couple of Corbett's with one being Ben Arthur aka "the Cobbler" up their in the Arrochar Alps as they are known,in 48 hours we had climbed some 8684ft lol & trekked over 30 miles, the dogs had a blast (I think) ..Mario was grand, all the travelling etc,him & Ruby spending the nights in the motor etc it was all good education for what I have planned for him in the future,we seen all kinds of wildlife infact I seen THREE species of deer on a two mile stretch of road and Roe wasn't one of them lol,I'd never seen an Osprey before but one flew over the darn road in front of me not 20ft off the ground as I passed Loch Lubhair, truthfully I'm knackered, well my knees are,I struggled & somewhat stupidly this morning just plodded on as you do,I could of cried having to come down the 2500ft + of the hill,I couldn't do no more but my pooches were still good to go but sadly for them at least we are now home I really wanted to stay until late tomorrow as the weather is going to be fantastic but I'm a cripple & in agony so bed tonight & sod the tent!! Was well happy with Mario,he had his moments of being a pup & after all that's what he is but I seen a more relaxed type of dog,he wanted to be my buddy & not just part of the pack..I seen what I hoped & wanted from him,it's not been a totally smooth passage with him but I have a bit of faith in this dog more so than I ever did for Boots at coming on 9 months..i see on my camera there's 500 odd pics ffs,I will put a few on after I've fed my dogs & had a soak in the bath lol .. couple just off my phone here.. Dog tired after a march up Ben Arthur 11 Quote Link to post

mushroom 12,995
When I'm doing peaks here I always walm up my legs first, coat in tiger balm (paying considerable attention not to get it on my balls or fella) get my layers on then repeat when the day is over. Have to admit last time I went too quickly for the first proper ascent of the season and my hip felt like it had been knocked out by a sledgehammer (torn laberum old shagging injury) and trust me you don't want to be running tiger balm on that Find it great that wee fanny licker gets out and at 'em Edited May 11, 2016 by mushroom 1 Quote Link to post

mushroom 12,995
Hey Fuji, would you be up for doing a big walk later this year? Have a look at Camino de Santiago. Runs across the north of Spain some lovely places to stop on the way (bit of wild camping to), amazing views etc. A couple of mates and me were thinking of doing it for a charity or two. Open invitation to anyone who fancies it, if enough are interested I'll start to organise something more concrete 1 Quote Link to post
