Country File And Another Anti Hunting Topic .....

what they shoot or hunt or fish out there has got nothing to do with us.if thats there way, thats there way.it's will be like another country trying to tell us how to live our lives.good luck to them.

The European Union and an host of countries throughout the world ALL sign up to legislation that protects the most vulnerable of animal species, including avian,Cites is just one of them, its about protection of our diminishing wildlife,"nothing to do with us" is the main reason for the decline, because of human intervention,in the said species and this neanderthal outlook on life is the same idyll that the nuggets, with shotguns,in malta adhere to,well done and enjoy your next holiday in Malta.

i don't know all the facts and i won't be treating the figures and stats from governments and animal charities with the respect you seem to.i expect the decline in some species is more to do with loss of habitat and food than a few maltese men with shotguns.

Look at the bigger picture Einstein and try not to isolate yourself into the comfort of your ignorance, its a suit that fits thee well.

then how about teaching them to rear their own like the pheasant shoots do???, oh aye they're trying to ban that too. Maybe a pro shooting org goes over and sorts it out and tell the Beeb and all the leftards to mind they're own fecking business.

Rear their own migrating bird species?.They don,t shoot released birds,Pheasants,Partridge etc.,if they did the solution would be evident. They shoot birds migrating through their air space, without any thought or consideration of the effects their shooting as on endangered bird species, they just dump whats non edible and eat or sell the rest.

When did you last hear a turtle dove in this country, when i was a kid they were common, i fully agree with a ban on shooting them on their migratory route, ive seen first hand some of these twats blazing away at any thing that happens to be in the sky, also anything on the ground i saw a prat shoot a sheep in nth yorks claiming it was a wild goat, any of you guys seen a wild goat in yorks. What disturbs me is the fact that on this site is the response on this thread, if it moves kill it, does not matter if its endangered, still kill it, all hunters are responsible sportsmen even if they are a bunch of medditeranian gun toting cowboys. Some people on this site need to stop burying their heads in the sand stop talking shit that gives the antis ammunition, and look towards conservation of the species that we can hunt and hopefully hunt in the future.

There's two sides to this argument no doubt, as has correctly been written loss of habitat, intensive farming practices, urban sprawl will probably be the biggest contributing factors to decline of species but also correct is the fact that it won't help blasting away at species that are declining......if you dont conserve stuff then it will be gone.

However, this puts every hunter on a slightly sticky wicket because if you are prepared to condone legislating against someone else's hunting then you can have no complaints when someone wants to legislate against yours.

It's the loss of habitat hunters should be trying to do something about and then forming non governmental groups to try and educate rather then legislate.

Give governments an inch and they will indeed take a mile ;)

I'll presume no one watched the other side of the arguement on the FSC.

70 + game wardens on all 40,000 acres of Malta would mean IMO that no one messes. The program showed them to be very fond of their gun dogs too and the reason they shoot feck all is because feck all reaches Malta in the first place.

In the last vote in their parliament the shooters held on to their rights by the smallest of margins so they must have some support.

As for blasting anything out of the sky and birds of prey being picked up after being shot ?

Where have we seen this before ?
