New Kahn Fight Thread

Recommended Posts

I think he was must of been of his nutt to think he stood a chance at beating the hard hitting Mexican. He was always going to lose in the end that's why there's weight classes. He's management should of told him not to go for it. He's been decked s couple of times, so it's proper back fired on him. One more fight for him, if he losses. Adios amigo!!!!!

exactly, if he was gravely injured or paralysed last night then the thread would have been about the stupidity of khans trainers/management

If you're getting sparked out by nobodies then maybe so. But when you're jumping up weight categories and fighting the best around I don't think you can say he's lost any credibility.

These people who say " i would get in the ring for 2 million " bla bla bla........are you the same people who walk into a job with no experience demanding huge salaries ?   The reason you cant deman

Glad he got beat lol

Khan has heart, is a very talented boxer but just falls short sometimes. The problem with boxing now is most boxers are scared of losing their ' 0 ' only mayweather Jr and marcarnio will have that title. Even the greatest boxers lost nothing to be ashamed of you only get stronger from a loss imho. (unless you are Audley Harrison)

Plenty of fighters have retired undefeated but when they are sitting telling their story to the grand children later on in life.......will they hand on heart be able to tell them that they really truly pushed themself to the absolute limit of their ability and seeked out the toughest competition available to them......when all the smoke has cleared a fighter only has himself to answer to.....if he knows he fought the toughest opponents out there and pushed himself beyond his own capabilities then win or lose that is the true glory.....not a nice pretty undefeated record.......i still speak to a man to this day who retired undefeated and he is full of regrets.

Db stay outa this thread, it wasn't a mussie bashing thread, you turned it into one. No childish name calling either, for khans own safety I think he should stay round his own weight division or retire, but that's my own opinion

He doesn't take much damage though,it's not like he's taken beatings every fight like Hatton did for example.

Unless he bangs head on the canvas when he get's KO'd and i haven't noticed

He performed well last night,he doesn't need to retire, but I don't think he'll get very far at middleweight.

exaclty look at Ben v the yank who had heart and who took a beating at the hands of benn, look where heart got him, has Kahn lost his attraction for big fights now in this modern era of undefeated v undefeated?

Or more recently Eubank jr vs Blackwell.

Khans lack of chin means he can't take a shot, not for lack of heart,he just can't.

If anything his lack of durability has given him the opportunity to show his heart by staying in the fight and when he's rocked and trying to get back up to beat the count when he's knocked down.

I thought the last fight i seen of his he looked to be slowing down, but last night he proved he's not done yet,if he can make welter without too much difficulty there's a few years left in him imo.

He has to be admired he was probably in a position if he beat canelo he would stand a good chance of calling mayweather out of retirement for a megafight, now that dream is lost floyd wont be bothered with him now.

should pack it in now before he gets hurt, hes a greedy cuxt .

Don't think he should pack it in he should drop back down. Alvarez was a step too far imho. He is a top middle weight Khan is a light welter / welter at best. Plenty left in him yet. Just hope he stays with Virgil hunter

He who dares wins..... Or gets knocked out

He does get knocked out with good shots like last night, but he also manages to get hit with good shots.

Considering he is a talented boxer, what is it with him where he can't dodge or roll with punches, like some less talented boxers can?

Just caught up on the old thread and I'd say your 'retire to Pakistan' comment was what fcuked it up. Funny how when some folks are losing in a debate they have to resort to this sort of stuff.
losing?? Losing what? Kahn lost not me. Now pesky don't you be starting either as its your sorts that's ruining gb with your imports
Imports, what imports, what the fcuk are you talking about? You want to put the glue bag down Len.

You couldn't just stick to Khan the boxer, you had to make it Khan 'go back to Pakistan' the boxer.

Khan won medals for GB sport, and he's flown the flag mixing it with some of worlds best boxers. What have you done for GB that's better than Khan's contribution?

Khans team picked, carefully, who they put him in the ring with,he was beat last night by a class boxer,he,s also been beat by boxers that are average at best.Khan and his family play heavily on their pakistani heritage, who,s his brother box for?,then become all British when attempting to sell his next fight.I don,t care where he,s from,he,s always been an average boxer that was managed to fight above his ability, thats why i never rated him.

To have quick hands you need even quicker feet.....im nobody to criticise a world champion boxer but if theres a flaw he has always had its having hands that are too fast for his feet......he often lets his hands go before his feet are set which leaves him vulnerable to the counter.......its a catch 22 as if he slowed his hands down he wouldnt be the same fighter but would be technically better.......Nigel Benn was like it at the start of his career it wasnt until he slowed his hands down that he could absorb a shot better.

Khan is very upright and doesnt show much head movement which again isnt a problem if the feet are fast enough to get in and out of range a fighter has to plan his escape route just as carefully as he plans his attack which if he doesnt do that is what is meant by the phrase " holding your feet too long ".

From a technical aspect all fighters have strengths and weaknesses its down to a trainer to correct the weaknesses without sacrificing too much of the strengths.

Any boxers team will pick the opponents carefully, who's missing off Khan's CV that you think he should have fought?

He's lost 4 in 31. Prescott was a freak, Peterson was a drug cheat, Garcia was a lesson and Canelo is a heavy handed bona fide middleweight, to me Khan has just grown into light-welter! Hardly a record to be ashamed of.

I'd concede he isn't contending the super elite PfP category, but he's not the mug a lot of you are making him out to be.

Thank's for that gnash, really informative, I'd struggle to find information like that put so concise.

Boxing really is an art and I bet most people like me have no idea what goes into becoming a good boxer.
