ginger beard 4,652 Posted May 7, 2016 Report Share Posted May 7, 2016 has/does anybody feed day olds to there dogs.?i was defrosting them for the ferrets when 1 of my dogs scoffed the lot.is it a good way of feeding a cheap cheap(sorry) barf food.?have they got much goodness in them.?defrosted a load more and now both dogs like them. downsouth 7,356 Posted May 8, 2016 Report Share Posted May 8, 2016 The reason falconers feed day old chicks is because they don't have much nutritional value so you can give a bird a good feed and it will be back on weight the next day and wanting food whereas if you feed them pheasant partridge rat etc they will get a lot from it so won't be feeling hungry or will be high in condition so be less responsive or willing to hunt the next day.
