Reshaping A Pro Sport To A Lefty

Simon you need to buy a pro sport my friend

 

I got a pro sport stock given to me off a good friend and iv had this idear in my head for some time now

 

but to be honest iv not had the bottle to try it on any of mine lol

 

so this was the ideal time to try it i saw what rez did to his but thought ill go one better to see if i could better it so set about shaping it over to the right from the left side then put a grinder to it and shape,d a cheek piece .

 

still away to go yet but it looks ok for now

 

Simon iv nown for ages how much you would love a pro sport so if i get this right with the help of Vizlauk(Sean) its yours

 

if he dose not nick it first lol

Not perfect Mac but if your only using the gun as a tool for shooting and your comfortable with it then who cares what it looks like lol

One of the hardest bits is getting the comb off the right hand side.

Would it be worth getting simon to make some paper or card profiles of the side of his left hooker stock to give you a template to work to. If you got 4 or 5 profiles, it would give you a real guide to model the stock to.

 

It is a great opportunity to take your stock finishing skills up to the next level Jimmy, good on her mate.

He's already got the profiles on the stock he has. Just got to mirror them.

Although it's going to take some glueing and reshaping bits. The foregrip is going to be a bitch to get right. The comb is easy.

If you want some seasoned beech for the comb then give me a shout old boy.

staind her last night and oil,s her then this morning when holding her i thought it dose not feel right on the thumbs up part and realist it was the ridge off the right hand cheek peace lol

 

so ill have to strip the hole thing again and remove the ridge and re shape the pistol grip for a better hold and thumbs up

 

so set about that this morning

 

Say nout about the feet Mark, or VM and you leave it to Moxy i like my title mr duct tape

She has some nice grain in her lads

 

but when i stain,d her it was hidden so may just smooth her out and true oil her

Premier Guns in Derbyshire alters and fits adjustable combs to all manor of guns and I have thought before when looking at both mine and my wifes shotguns which have these combs that they are not so complicated it is just a matter of getting the rise n fall posts/locks which must be made by some company and supplied to the trade.

 

Now with that Jimmy, wouldn't it be perfect for projects like this allowing you to basically remodel the comb top. The kit can't be too expensive because Premier will do the job for you at approx £200.

Iv often thought about making some sort of cheek peace out of a nice peace of wood that will just slide over the top and lock into place

 

but you would still have to sand down the edge on the pro sport to achieve this .
