Regal - New Scope

Recommended Posts

So, swapped my MTC Mamba 3-12X44 RIR, I thought it was too big and heavy for my little Regal, I managed to swap it for a lovely little Bushnell Legend 2-7X32, which is an unbelievably bright and clear little scope and a better match for my Regal. The problem was that I only had high 25mm mounts from my Hawke, I ordered some mediums and as you can see the scope sits close home, the only issue was that I had to shift the scope back due to the saddle of the scope fouling the magazine, but it actually transpires that it's much better closer to the eye. I now have loads of wiggle room with eye relief, I know it looks a bit odd (maybe only to me) but it's a wonderful combo and cannot wait to get out on the permission this weekend. What you you guys think of the look?

The lads gone for an old school duplex :)

Good man.

As an extra, looks nice, cute almost... and I mean the rifle, not your avatar :D

Thanks Rez, yeah, whilst more modern rets make shot placement easier, I would rather shoot "old school" and know the flight path of my pellets and adjust accordingly, my Mamba had the G4A ret so not used to multiple aim points. That's not to say that I won't one day have a "christmas tree" ret, just not yet, and FYI the rifle's not cute, it's a lean, mean hunting machine, you were right about my avatar though ;)

Id like to get back to the duplex... just ordered a Pro Staff for my Rapid to be honest, duplex too. Shouldn't matter much when its 11.6, pellet should be laser like.

I've got a Simmons prohunter 6-18X40SF for my 80, that's a lovely bright and clear scope, nice duplex too, it's a simmons from when they were good, not any of the s**t they started knocking out towards the end.

Cracking fine scopes the Bushnell Legend series Andy

I use a Simmons Pro-Air 6-18x40 which is a 30/30 reticle and a beauty of a scope (no longer made) on my HW77. Though on that rifle, right now, is a really brilliant BUSHNELL SCOPECHIEF 4-14x50 AO scope with a 30/30 reticle. One of the very best scopes I've ever put on an air rifle and , true to form, THEY NO LONGER MAKE IT!

A Simmons Whitetail Classic 4.5- 14x40 AO on my HW80 .22. Also no longer made.

On my Regal I currently have a Hawke Panorama 4-12x40 which is a beautiful little scope and keeps the rifle light and pointably sweet.

But I also use a brilliant NIKON FIELDMASTER 6-18x40 sidefocus AO scope with a very fine wire crosshair bisecting a tiny dot reticle. Incredible accuracy in zero and tough enough to withstand the heavy recoil of my HW80 .22 FAC rifle.

Nice collection you have there pianoman, I am starting to look backwards instead of forwards when it comes to glass. Above all else I want simplicity and a nice, bright and clear image, I had the MTC which was great but I found it bulky and a bit over complicated for my needs, my prohunter is set at 6x mag for hunting and only goes higher when paper punching, I set the parallax to around 30 yards and off I go. The legend I believe is as close to parallax free as I've seen, 7X mag is great for zero, but then settle it down to between 5 and 6 for hunting. I'm really happy with it, I'd struggle to find better glass for the size and money, a real gem.
