Lukey12 126
Just putting the feelers out there I'm after a busher to run along with the lurcher not fussed on any breed or cross as long as it's from working parents and must be a pup... thanks in advance Quote Link to post
Dave6592 51
Theres some in the for sale section, Lakeland x Russell x Beagle Sprocker ready May 9th - It's got 15 pages of arguments but I'm sure if you messaged the seller they'd give you info without you having to read through! What type of land do you work? May help you narrow it down to a specific type/size Quote Link to post

By the sounds of it you could do with a compact type with a good coat that doesn't range too far. I'd suggest a terrier x cocker, hopefully the Spaniel would keep the urge from going to ground away! Never had my own busher as I have always worked lurchers so it's all new to me. I have been out with lads that use bushers but never had my own thanks Quote Link to post
Dave6592 51
Jack Russell x Plummer will be a cracking dog, although think it will be quite keen to go to ground, just discourage it at any opportunity if that's not what you want it for. P.S Best way to calm your missus down is to ask her if the cloth in your hand smells of chloroform Quote Link to post

Some Plummers have been dug to and will stay, believe it or not. 2 Quote Link to post

Can't fault her. But she goes to ground and stays. She's pretty intelligent and is learning that it's not what I want from her. She's started looking at the hole, shaking with hesitation and looking at me as much to say "can I". 9/10 times now when I say "get out" she comes away. I'm sure if you had one from a pup and put the time in you could teach it to stay away. But nothing is certain. Quote Link to post

I have always fancied a plummer or plummer cross hence why I have gone for plummer x jack mainly going to be a mooching/bushing dog and the odd day out ratting Quote Link to post
