neil cooney 10,416
Judged dogs at it 3 times in the early 00s and IMO it was up there with the best shows ever. I never got home in under 3 days either, LOL. I still have a few videos of the show including the year there was around 40 proper Wheatens in the one field at the same time. That's something that will probably never ever be seen again. I judged the Wheatens that year and it was an honour. 6 Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
Neil can u put the videos up mate ? Would love to see that Even if I could put them up BlackBuck I wouldn't as most lads on it still keep dogs. The film "Man About Dog" was on the other night and the recruiting for all the doggy folk was done at Tandragee show. Stevie sent the film chaps over to me and they asked did I want to take part in the T + L show that's in the film. Here dressed in a pink shirt and very camp indeed was a chap asking me did I want to be in a film with my dogs ????? I called him an anti and told him to f**k off. Turns out the film is full of well known doggy lads who got well paid for being in it, LOL. 1 Quote Link to post

Pity that as you missed out on something that we'll probably never see the likes again. Plenty of lads from all over GB and Europe used to come to it and if I remember correctly I think Boston Blacky judged the bull dogs one year. Then we'd all be in the Farmers the next day, drunk, LOL. The weight pulling was also great. One year two bulldogs both pulled the same and there were no weights left (the weight was 30 or 40 four inch solid blocks.) so the boys put a kid sitting on top of the blocks and one bulldog pulled it and one didn't. 2 Quote Link to post

The Sweep Bar, another great show ran by Pat and Foxy (The South East T + L club) . That show must have ran for near 20 years. Quote Link to post
