Young Foxes

Hi there.

 

So i'm from the netherlands and an active fox hunter. In the netherlands we can shoot foxes all year round witch can be a bittle of a discussion oint because of the young foxes, but allright.

 

Here the young foxes are just starting to take a look outside the den and I was wondering if there's a great difference with the uk in that. Are the youngsters older in the uk or is it the same as in the netherlands?

I heard stories from a colleage off mine that's from the uk that they have shoot big young foxes allready over there. (half grown or how you call it?)..

 

How is it at your den sites?

Caught this yesterday:

 

Biggest so far. The trail camera showed two more there as well so the trap will stay a little longer.

 

I've never cage trapped many before but it's working a treat and I've caught 7 now from two families. The dog fox is still bringing these food which I then place in the traps. This place is a real fortress with no chance of sitting out over it and the earth extends to over thirty meters with 30-40 holes in all. I half hoped the trap would scare the vixen into moving somewhere easier but they know how safe this earth is I think.

Meanwhile, I can't get the adults for love nor money but hopefully just a matter of time. My wife saw the dog out and about at 10:00am whilst riding her pony today so perhaps I should have a lay in and try the middle of the day

Just patience crosshair he'll be there if you plan and bait your chosen spot, although I love foxes my job is to cull them but i'll never shoot a fox i'm not required to. I'm sure this little one was put away quickly no stress no suffering
