Hi guys finally went out today and purchased a 97k in 177 just wondering what you guys think off them and what pellets you find best for them cheers guys

They are utter shit mate. You have bought what could be the worst springer on the market. No pedergree, no build quality, absolutely no tuning potential. Utter wank. Couldn't hit a barn door with one, even on a bad day.

 

Don't even think about using air arms fields 4.52... Shocking.

Great guns and IMO one of the best spring guns you can buy ,Try AA Express or jsb express same pellet . AA fields 4.51 or 2 but i find 4.51 give a tighter group out to 50 yards

Sweet rifle,never used one in .177 though,but calibre aside its one of the most popular air rifles there is and for good reason,let's have pics and updates when you start pellet testing and shooting with it...

Seriously they are superb sporting spring rifles. Mine too is a .177 K in a lovely Bavarian sporter stock and it really does the business with H&N Field Target Trophy 4.50 headsize.

 

Ive had some amazing shots on rabbits at long ranges with my HW97K.

Rez`s opinion seems well liked any way

 

The TX seems to win all the HFT/ FT world championships each year though and the 97 does not - but still a very good and popular rifle all the same.

Mark, its ok... we all still like the TX's mate. Its a good rifle too

 

Not sure how valid the comp point is though. Those TX's dont shoot themselves. You could argue that TX's are easier to shoot more accurately? I personally found my PS a walk in the park compared to learning how to shoot my 97.

The accuracy on offer by any top springer is way more than a lot of people can grasp and make use of.

The TX continually winning championships by different​ marksmen ?

I became a decent shot, ( or so I`m told ), with the TX, relatively soon compared to previous springers I`ve owned over the decades .

No idea what your on about Mark, but the OP was about 97's. A 97 is just as good as a TX.

 

Anyones a decent shot with an AA mate. I reckon I could shoot your TX as good as you, but I dont reckon you could shoot my 97 as good as me... and thats my point. There easier to shoot.
