Rabid 1,936
Best of luck jok, I know how it feels mate, I lost a few bloody good birds to Charlie, built a trap, first four nights it had been sprung every nigh but had escaped, so I made a latch so when the door shuts it's latched shut, had feck all in it since ! Seen a fox in front of it, behind it, both sides of it, my lad even saw one on top of the trap, but do you think it will go in.......
neil cooney 10,416
And you wont get him, that's the way life works, LOL. One thing I know about fox traps is to not tell anyone you have one. They see a fox and they're straight on the phone to you because they think they're foolproof. I just tell them to set a snare or two as they're more effective (which they are) but they never do.

Rabid 1,936
I went out to my birds about an hour before they went in to have a look around, ten yards from the pen in the next field was a vixen working the hedge line, she stopped, pounced in the hedge, heard a squeal and came back out with quarter grown bunny, casual as you like she walked back off down the field carrying said rabbit, mixed feelings as it was close to my pen, and I been hit with foxes before so generally I want any in the area dead, but it was so close and it's something I never seen before. However, if I had a rifle in my hands I wouldn't have hesitated, one lucky fox, as I was going out I almost picked a gun up and took with me but didn't.......
