That's the thing, most of us aren't Neanderthals - When we hunt, we look for the quickest, cleanest shot possible. We use what prey we can to ensure that as little as possible is wasted. We have respe

well being (un-emotional ) or naive , these 2 pieces of scum needed or need physical punishment given to them why, not because revenge , but to show people who do these type of things, that if you

and i hope they get a few more beatings, and when they get over that....a few more, despicable people,

Oh to f**k with impartial justice, lets all join the mob and let emotionally driven revenge and vigilantism take it's place! After all these lads are guilty of the crime of murder, everyone agrees! Life for a life! Quick before they turn to fiddling kids!

And no, I do not support what they have done or look lightly on it or even really give a f**k what happens to them. But I do care about becoming the victim of my own ignorance and emotional naivety.

What do you think they deserved?, a group hug and a trip to Disneyland.

Thankfully my outlook is more simplistic and less morally inhibited, the kicking was deserved and should be inflicted weekly for the foreseeable future.

So when the system fails to deliver we the public should just bury our heads in the sand in the hope that these pair of shithouses do not reoffend?

Me personally, ( note personally not public opinion ) I would like to think that these two get a beating so bad that next time they see a dog they will cross the road or walk in the other direction. Nothing more nothing less because they deserve no better, mark my words sooner or later somebody somewhere will set a dog on these two, a dog that will remind them of what they done, and I hope that also gets filmed and put on the internet. Thats what I would call justice.

All systems are fallible! The philosophical approach that I am promoting minimises failings and it's one generally recognised as a founding principle in justice. Hot headed revenge is never a solution even if by shear luck it has a good outcome. You hope that the vigilantes continue to punish these two with no regard for the fallout or collateral. Only a week or two ago the national news reported a man was the victim of a vigilante gang of youths out to get nonces!

When the system is perceived to be failing we should work on improving it. I'm not saying that we should just treat what we have as perfect and shrug our shoulders. But it should be done with steady objective analysis, not off the back of a mobs emotional outrage.

Every argument I have read and heard condemning these two I have heard condemning hunters! No matter how convinced we are that we are different there is a worryingly large group that see us as just the same. The voice of 'democracy' here is dangerous. It may be the voice of the majority but it's also born of emotion, not rational thought and that is the big failing of democracy, when the mob gathers to satisfy their lust for blood and revenge.

As I have said, I have no sympathy for these two, I have no appreciation for what they bring society. But I fear the mob more than I do individuals like these.

What a load of bollocks that statement is, I Know that nobody in their right mind will hold hunters in the same regard as those two pricks, unless of course those pointing the finger are the lunatic element of some anarchist animal rights organisation.

What has hunting got to do with what they did?

Well what you know and what I know is different then fella. I know that many many folks would consider a lot of the reality of dog work totally abhorrent and unnecessary cruelty.

What does this have to do with hunting? I'd of thought I made that fairly clear but perhaps you missed my point. It's the response that this case has provoked which I believe is fundamentally wrong and could very easily be used against us and as such I do not support.

If you think that's all bollocks, that's fine, it's no skin off my nose, I'm under no illusion that I'm about to start a social revolution! LOL

Supportive of who or what? LOL. My entire argument is one against support! Against support of vigilantism and mob justice! But of course that means by default that I support these two lads I suppose? That's really weak logic and frankly ignorant of what I have explicitly said.

I'm hardly under the belief that I am in the majority here, but I'm certainly not the only one....... the only one stupid enough to debate this, guilty. LOL

It's a sorry state of affairs when people just have to accept the "justice" meted out by our justice system. In this case, in MY opinion, and a lot of other people's opinion, they got off too lightly. They are obviously retarded, so they won't understand this slap on the wrist bollocks.

Mob justice RULES. Accept no alternative. :ninja:

Don't get me wrong BH I do not believe for one minute you support anything else but hunting. But I will tell you what I support, I will support any man or woman that would beat those two pricks to within an inch of their life everyday, regardless of what the judicial system has to say.

I'm going to assume that's target at me?

If so, where have I said that anyone has to accept the result of the justice system? Have I not quite clearly stated otherwise?

It wasn't aimed at you actually. It was aimed at people who think everything is hunky dory and as long as the people in power say something is so, we have to go along with it.

So put your handbag away. :tongue2:

Del, I totally sympathise with that. I'd hope you understand that my instinctive response to all this wasn't any different to yours, the majority of peoples. Whatever you believe is your right and quite frankly no more or less valid than my own. I'm not trying to take the moral high ground here, to be perfectly honest my thinking often pisses me off because it doesn't feed my human desire for revenge!

Nonetheless, I'm a thinking man, it's the way I'm made and I hold objectivity above whims of the heart. I can't in good conscience, for the reasons I've given, support all this. That's my view, it's unpopular, it'll be misconstrued and to be honest being in the minority and still speaking your mind is f**k all fun but well, there ain't much honour in just nodding your head in agreement with everyone.

Does what happened to this lads make me happy, in a vengeful way yes, but that doesn't mean I support it. It means I accept that as a human I ain't perfect but strive to be better. My better, that's a judgement on me, not others.
