Barbarian1990 220
Not really looking as not ready for a pup yet but I was shocked how many 300-400 pound litters where on there. I'd pay the money for the right dog but when your reading advert and it's something like. 3boys 4girls mum is staffyxwolfhound and dad is toy poodle x whippet and look like they've never worked a day in there life, it don't half grate a bit. Sound old now but I remember when litters where 100-150 from proper working dogs. There must still be some out there. Rant over hahaha Quote Link to post
Fat-Ferret 857
The fookers I have will cost me 300-400 before I'm done! Quote Link to post
Somewhereyournot 1,117
Funny you mentioned that, I was looking at few litters and most are well over 250 now. Also looked at greyhound prices and some are as low as 300 for bitches. Quote Link to post

I was gifted pick of the litter at 6 weeks when I went to get my brindle bitch off a lad on here and I paid £150 for my pup at 6 weeks also off a lad on here. 2 Quote Link to post

I saw that one dad was a "muscly chap" but people will buy them lol and probably breed off them and more and more crap dogs are about. Good look with finding a pup for your lad. Quote Link to post

desertbred 5,490
Some people are buying handbag dogs £800/1000 and them french bull dogs blue of course for over £2,500 and lads think £300/400 for a working line pup is a bit heavy, if your lines are right stud fees etc and the up bringing is right with jabs chips etc a good 10 week old pup with background has got to be near £300 cost price so some want to give their heads a rattle , preloved ,dogs r us isnt the place you will find a good pup, . Its been said before folk are entitled to ask what they want doesnt mean they will get it. Some running dogs the owners wouldnt let lads through the pen gate with £3/400 in their pocket. I suppose its how serious you are and what dog you want. 1 Quote Link to post

I suppose its how serious you are and what dog you want. Very true,we have two very useful bitches around us & my old cur x who himself has been a cracking worker yet instead of breeding our own we bought two pups from a litter for £750,had to travel over 300 miles for them, inoculations etc these two had a grand in them immediately,no there ain't no guarantees, they may not even make it to the field for their 1st run as accidents can & do happen..do your homework on who has the pups, the parents, lineage & importantly their working cv then if they float your boat you pays your money & you take your chance ...simple as that :-) 4 Quote Link to post

Good look with finding a pup for your lad. cheers Craig . it s not the paying for a pup I find hard ,it's the shit that's being bred from that makes it difficult to find something. The bull crosses I keep suit me and do what I want but are to big for him and I don't plan breeding off anything yet .I ve never kept a whippet type of lurcher so just wondered if anyone had bred something decent that my lad could start off with.
