NEWKID 27,178
Stayed in Lochailort last summer, around 40 miles on from Fort William, towards arisiag... The fishing was really good, mainly fished from the kayak but very close to the rocks. Slow retrieving Sandeel imitation I found best, savage eels or fiish black minnows worked best, although im sure most jelly types would work. Had pollack to 10lb plus small coal fish and codling... Set crab pots, caught quite a few edibles, loads of spiders and velvet swimmers.... The kids loved it. Used the pollack carcasses for baiting the pots. The pots weren't set to far off the rocks, I would say a blow up dinghy would be a good idea. Something we've done down here is night "lamping" for prawns, use your head lamp and get down on the rock ledges at night, you'll need a landing net on a long handle, it's best at low water when you can reach the weed at the low water line. Shine the head lamp into the weed/edge of the rocks, the prawns eyes glow red in the light, scoop the net through the weed and bag up!! You can get quite a few in a short space of time, plus the kids will see all sorts hidden amongst the rocks at dark, most of the small fish are in there it's like a lit up aquarium... Have a good one mate 3 Quote Link to post

NEWKID 27,178
Bm or sg newkid? Do you mean the lures mate?? If so the lure that seemed to work best was the Black Minnow, as I was drifting I only needed to retrieve really slowly and got a lot of takes like this. Also the savage gear in lemon back colour was pretty good, I've had some nice bass on this lure over the last couple of years too.. Quote Link to post
