tillylamp 1,838
For those that have recognized that they are drinking too much and have decided to bang it on the head, the best of luck to you, but drinking that amount of alcohol every day isn't normal. I think, subconsciously, there is a problem. the constant drinking is just topping up every day. I don't think that people who drink that amount on a daily basis can't say they haven't got some sort of a problem. Albeit dependency or addiction. I think you are very lucky if you can drink large amounts every night and get away without being addicted. My mates exwife was and still is a very heavy drinker. As she got older it was beginning to be noticed that it was not just one or two drinks, she had to get totally bladdered. Well to cut a long story short, her kids were finding cans hidden around the house. Apparently she went to a tupperware party or something like that and the quiz of the night was, what is the most important item in your handbag, she said her can of lager for on the drive home lol lol not funny really though. Even today she insists she hasn't got a problem, but i beg to differ on that... also, people say they don't drink and drive, they must be constantly over the limit, this is not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, its just my thoughts on the situation if a family/friend member said to me that they drink a lot on a daily bases, i would be concerned about them,
shepp 2,285
I think it's basically a bit of escapism, some just want to escape a bit further than others.
forest of dean redneck 11,735
What willpower or stubbornness you got. I set a limit of basically a 10 can pack has to last me a week .i drink more tea now. Do I feel better for it no, I'm more tense but Then thats also my circumstances. Tomo that's normal. I'd say double the amount of pints or bottle of Spirits a night isa problem, lol I can be the most stubborn fukcer you've ever met mate and I have plenty of will power ... If I want to achieve something I will keep going until it happens ....... Then your achieve in either stopping or reducing amount you drink.

Born Hunter 17,816
Some of you are highly conditioned drinking athletes! LOL, f**k me I reckon what some of you do habitually would nigh'on kill me! I've never been a drinker but recently I'll have a cider or two socially. Hate the taste of anything else really and to be honest I hate that loss of edge feeling it gives, if that makes sense. I can't really imagine what it must be like to have an addiction and it ain't my place to judge. It's funny really the response you get from folks, especially in the hunting/shooting world where obviously drinking is part and parcel of the culture. Always viewed with skepticism!
