bracken boy 584
I not read every post as it's simple, we all have a choice and it's, do you enjoy a drink? Fine but it's all down to when older we have to enjoy in smaller amounts , I drink whisky and I really do but hell no do I get total pissed it's weekend with Friday n Saturday with 3 or 4 healthy glasses per night, now there is always gunna be occasions when it goes into 4 or 5 but it's all down to self and control so if a total ban well I hope not, enjoy your life. bracken boy 584
I've been a drinker most of my youth now 50 whisky but controlled, never been in trouble in my life, you got to understand your limits, accept them, a weeks break then a few drams I totally look forward to and enjoy, The new age dosnt agree with drink but hey that's fine but don't preach to me and leave me alone,

Gaz_1989 9,539
Fair play socks. Bet you feel better for it. At Christmas I was drinking 3 bottles of Henry Westons every morning after work and usually a bottle of wine on top. At weekends it would be a bottle of rum or whiskey. I didn't cut it down straight away but I reduced it drastically and started doing more training. I just had a few glasses of wine when I was off work. 6 weeks ago I knocked it on the head altogether. I had 5 pints of cider Saturday night when we went out for a meal but didn't really enjoy it and not had inclination to drink since. I will keep it to special occasions now, birthdays etc and I'm sure I willl have a few on my stag do and wedding night lol. It's the best thing I've done for ages, not drinking makes training easier, and more training makes not wanting a drink easier.
paulus 26
i enjoy a drink and a smoke, probably will kill me in the end, been doing both for over 35 years, at a guess the damage is already done, but fcuk it, you have to die of something, might as well be caused by something i enjoy. fifeman 164
At what degree are you classed as an alcoholic ? The man that gets up in the morning and hits the bottle, the man who works hard but also drinks everynight but doesn't let it take over or effects his day to day life ? Does how much you drink or how often define you. As has been previously said, self control plays a big part in drinking.
