terryd 8,504
nhs is one area needs a good shake up and money thrown at it and looking after. Absurd a service that looks after our health is in such a mess. So yes Edited April 25, 2016 by terryd
Lid 194
It is not possible to run a 7 day health service without 7 day resources across the board. The government are idiots to think otherwise. I support them, but it is very sad it has got this far and I don't think they should have dropped emergency cover.
bracken boy 584
Defo no, it's a bad sad issue is the nhs but if you've lost a loved one on a strike day then you'd think different,,

BGD 6,436
I'll be down my local hospital with coffees and doughnuts in the morning, if anyone else isn't busy with work you should make your way down to local picket line to show support too 100% behind the junior doctors

Of coarse I want our doctors to be well looked after but just feel there's a bigger picture at play Edited April 25, 2016 by kanny
Blackbriar 8,569
I back them 100%. Jeremy Hunt (I think they said "Hunt") wants 7 day service on 4 day funding, and don't be under any illusion that this only involves a small number of junior doctors. In the NHS, "Junior Doctor" means anyone below Consultant level. Another government attempt to further undermine and destabilise the NHS........
Kay 3,709
with a well publicised removal of emergency cover in most hospitals for 48 hours is a step to far imo, lets hope there's no terrorist incidents or are they all going to rush back to work if that's the case ? There's going to be more Doctors near hospitals during the strike than there would be on a normal day and you can bet your life if there was a real emergency like a terrorist attack they'd all be straight in to help out
JDHUNTING 1,817
Not one bit everyone else in the health service have to work weekends as part of the week, just a bunch of spoilt brats stamping there feet because they cant believe someones had the nerve to tell them what to do
shepp 2,285
I must take some time to look at the detail of the contracts offered to be sure, but provisionally I guess I back the doctors.
WILF 47,226
The big problem is that governments have to f**k about with the NHS all the time because no one especially the politicians want to admit the truth......and the truth is that it's completely broken and needs totally dismantled and start again from a position of sanity. I support what the doctors are saying but they need to admit the truth too, then maybe they can start to get treated properly.
