DogFox123 1,379
Comparing David Haye and Mike Tyson as hard punchers is like comparing a Ferrari and a Wrx Impreza as fast cars........yes ultimately the goal is the same but the way its achieved is completely different..............Tyson was a ko artist Haye is not.......Tyson did not come out to win the rounds he came out to end the fight......his jab was virtually non existent.......David Haye doesnt have that type of explosiveness he has to fish for openings.......Haye comes out to win rounds and if the opportunity shows itself he has the power and accuracy to end a fight.......Tyson had no plan b. As for size Tyson struggled even early on with tall fighters Tucker/Green/Smith were all very tall for their time and took him the distance making him look bad.......he would of had nightmares with todays freaks.......Joshua is more like Tyson in terms of fully committing to getting an opponent out......he is all about the gamble, everything about him and his career is about committing to the risk thats why he is a promoters dream......as Tyson would be in todays times. Tyson didn't have a jab? He had a great jab whilst with Kevin Rooney IMO. Haye's style is nothing like Tyson but he is very explosive for a heavyweight and is a sharp shooter. Tyson struggled against those fighters? If winning just about every round is classed as struggling I'd hate to see him win easily. Winning easily would be ironing them out inside 3. Lol Not at all, not everybody falls over when hit on the chin. He won each and every one of those fights in landslide decisions.

People are giving off because it took Joshua 7 rounds to get Dillian Whyte out......can you imagine the shit they would give Tyson for being taken to a points decision by Mitch Green .......can you name me a fight where Tysons jab played any significant part in a fight ?.....he had a tiny reach and would continue to try to knock guys out until the 12th round simply because he didnt have the plan b to back off and get on his jab and jab the rounds out with opponents he couldnt ko. Mitch Green was a decent fighter and as tough as old boots, he was never stopped in his career. Drugs and being a total nutcase spoilt his chances of having a decent career. Who's knocking Joshua? He did what he had to do and won by knockout, can't do anything more than that. Name any fight? Go watch the Holmes knockout. The big right hand was set up by the jab, most of Tyson's work came off the jab whilst with Rooney. Post Rooney all he looked for was that one shot.

Have you ever seen that Mitch Green fight ? if Tyson threw more than 5 jabs the entire fight id be surprised............a jab thats used to set something up cant be compared to a point scoring jab mate.......plenty of destructive punchers will use the jab almost as a smokescreen to set up the big right hand even just using it to break the concentration... not as a hurtful point scorer........Tyson could never in a million years of beaten his opponents by getting on his jab and winning rounds with it which is what i meant by show me a fight where his jab won him a fight. His jab was used as a weapon to set the combinations up but it was very effective and a point scoring punch. Of course it wasn't his standout punch like for instance Larry Holmes. I don't class being taken to 12 rounds as winning easily, but that's just me. Especially in the heavyweights. You want them out of there ASAP. But again that's just me. No right or wrongs. Dont keep it a secret mate tell me one and i,ll go check......i genuinely cant think of a distance fight Tyson was involved as in a jab and move fight he won on technical ability. Watch all of his fights with Rooney, he uses the jab to great affect. He even out jabbed Holmes albeit a past prime version. That wasn't an easy task to do as Holmes did very well for a good few years after his loss to Tyson.
