I have the cz 223 527 and its light enough to carry around all day

I'm going to re zero it without the mod to make it even lighter

I am thinking about the hornet aswell and it will be the cz 527 again as I quite like the set trigger

Think when I had a look they were about 800 quid

But that is what some people spend on a air rifle, and it should last years

I'm saving my pennies for a new one

do you know what your looking for ? has it got to be a cz/brno as i think a mate(rfd) had an anshutz in a while back ,from what i remember it looked quite tidy

 

Cheers for that, but I think I've decided on a CZ527.

 

 

I have the 527 in .17 Hornet. It has a 24" 'varmint' barrel. It is nothing like a real varmint barrel though. I once owned a Tikka T3 Varmint. It had a Jet-Z CQB sat on the end as well!!

 

I don't find the 527 at all heavy. It has a Hardy Gen moddy, Vortex x50 scope and a Harris bipod attached. Slung over my shoulder I can carry it around for hours without a problem.

 

Now I know that we are generally accepted ( ) to be a little more masculine over this side of the border ............ but come on guys ............ MAN UP!!! :laugh:

Personally, I'd be tempted to buy the Lux and order a Boyds stock. For what I reckon would be approx £100 after import duties ($99 = £70), you'd could have a far nicer stock than either, assuming you can fit it yourself, and for approx £30 more than the American overall.

Personally, I'd be tempted to buy the Lux and order a Boyds stock. For what I reckon would be approx £100 after import duties ($99 = £70), you'd could have a far nicer stock than either, assuming you can fit it yourself, and for approx £30 more than the American overall.

 

 

Nah. The barrel is too long. It has fixed sights etc etc. By the time I'd removed them and had the barrel chopped and screwcut, it would be absolute fortunes.

I bought a Boyds stock for my .308 and they were $97 then. Add $40 shipping and then bend over for HMCE for another £25 and it totalled @ £126. The same stock bought from a dealer in this country is @ £325.

Unfortunately they have banged up their prices to @$129 which means we are now screwed because they won't export anything over $100

Your local rfd can order them now through Edgar Bros. You look on Boyds website for the stock of your choice and note the product code. Give the code to your rfd and he can order from Edgars, takes approx six weeks to come, my mate has just done this.

Yep! Anybody that has tried to buy a Boyds directly in the recent history will know that unfortunately. I payed twice as much but bought a Walnut Parmoor instead.

I've bitten the bullet. so to speak, and asked my RFD to order me a CZ527. Supposedly it'll be slightly quicker than 12 weeks and be the last week of May. We'll see.
