downsouth 7,151
I know where on about fox dogs what would be your ideal pair mine would be a puller and a brawler what could take the shit and the reason I am saying that is for big numbers pre ban I know some of you lads like it single handed gotto agree with that macky, used to run a little whipoet cross bitch with a hard bullx. The bullx couldn't catch foxes on our small fields and the lil bitch didn't have it to do them alone after sept but as a pair they did very wellNeither of them can be classed as a fox dog though. And unless it's specifically being done for pest control and let's face it for 90% of lads it was done for sport why would you want to. bird 9,862
Was talking to a man last night say,d Merl collie,s can't kill fox,s I say,d all bred,s can kill em if there enter,d right and have the heart for it.? its not the color , its the collie in the dog that dont want it. look at sent dog and similar breeding , there all near enough 3/4 breds (greys) just bit of collie. its the greyhound in the mix that wants the fox, clever dogs like collies or with good lump of collie in the mix, think twice about it once they had few nips from old charlie boy . i know people will say differnt with there lurchers with collie in mix, my own colliex grey dog Blaze would kill foxes solo, but always tried to be careful of the teeth , and few did get away some nights, this was in the 80s. the lurcher what ever the x deff got have the heart for the job, and dont mind bit of pain 5 Quote Link to post
