Casso 1,261
Maybe it's that gopping Dublin accent but do you think he is the type that will be sensible with his money if he retired ? My impression (based on the very limited times I have seen him on the telly) is that he would be boss eyed in 5 years and looking to go again? Based on the fact he's a working class jackeen, , he may have a big mouth but he's a cute hore in the same breath with a small circle of friends , tight family unit and a mot with a good head on her shoulders, he has made making money look easy, created mega interest in himself and his fights , he had a sharp crisp mind, don't underestimate him , he may play the joker but he's nobody's fool

Personally I have no interest in UFC or whatever it's called.

Silversnake 1,099
Whether you love him or hate him he captured the publics imagination like no other, i am sure he surpassed even his own lofty ambitions. I personally don't go for all the smack talk but i liked the way he fought and the fearless way he challenged, fought and beat the best of the best. I would like to see him fight diaz, dos anjos, aldo, etc and see how he goes as his fights, win or lose i have always found entertaining, but if he chooses to retire i wish him well.

jigsaw 11,899
I am just trying to do my job and fight here. I am paid to fight. I am not yet paid to promote.I have become lost in the game of promotion and forgot about the art of fighting. There comes a time when you need to stop handing out flyers and get back to the damn shop.50 world tours, 200 press conferences, 1 million interviews, 2 million photo shoots, and at the end of it all I'm left looking down the barrel of a lens, staring defeat in the face, thinking of nothing but my incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this. Nothing else was going through my mind. It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life.Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a f**k morning show did not get me this life. Talking to some lady that deep down doesn't give a f**k about what I'm doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I'm cool with that too, I've been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.I'm coming for my revenge here. I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep. With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight. I will not do this if I am back on the road handing out flyers again.I will always play the game and play it better than anybody, but just for this one, where I am coming off a loss, I asked for some leeway where I can just train and focus. I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment. But it was denied. There had been 10 million dollars allocated for the promotion of this event is what they told me. So as a gesture of good will, I went and not only saved that 10 million dollars in promotion money, I then went and tripled it for them. And all with one tweet.Keep that 10 mill to promote the other bums that need it. My shows are good. I must isolate myself now.I am facing a taller, longer and heavier man. I need to prepare correctly this time. I can not dance for you this time.It is time for the other monkeys to dance. I've danced us all the way here. Nate's little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it. He came in with no shit to do that last one. I'd already done press conferences, interviews and shot the ads before RDA pulled out.Maybe I'll hit Cabo this time and skull some shots pre-fight with no obligation.I'm doing what I need for me now. It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way. I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway. I am still ready to go for UFC 200. I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions. If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don't know what to say. For the record also - For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations - I AM NOT RETIRED. before all you ''experts'' write him off.....our Connors preparing for WAR ....so watch this space

Lab 10,979
Hahaha big words from mcgregor. Gets punched in the face . Gives up Ok we get it....you don't like him. But let's not just write bollocks. He gassed, tried to save the round by going to the ground and that was worse. Tapped because he knew had nothing left. I'm personally hoping this is just a load of old shite and he gets back to what he does best.....knocking folk out.
jigsaw 11,899
if he comes back and beats Diaz, hes back in yer good books then?Remember ,everyone meets their match....all the best fighters did..
lukey 1,621
Everyone else is going to the press conference?? Why dose he need special treatment, can't he handle the life he has worked his way into? Why is he looking for pity? Was Jose Aldo beaten because of all the press and promo work? In front of the lens has played part of where he is now with all his talk, is he doubting himself now?

In front of the lens has played part of where he is now with all his talk, is he doubting himself now?Heard plenty people say that Aldo was beaten before the fight so maybe the hype did play a part. The way I've read it was he wanted this one time to miss the interview.....just this once. It's like you missing a day at work because you needed too. Dana could have easily said yes and there would be no bullshit.
lukey 1,621
But he's contracted to it bud, they all need to do it, he let him pick the fight he wanted, he don't own or run the ufc
Lab 10,979
I understand that mate. I think Dana could have handled it better. Saying that we have no clue of the real story so we are all just kinda guessing.

When CM took it to the ground and gave up his back just to avoid any ground and pound? I never said game, i said fearless and yes i did like the way he fearlessly took on Diaz, he tried his hardest to knock him out and Diaz ended up with multiple facial fractures. If McGregor was running and not engaging from the beginning of the fight i would have lost respect for him, he simply got beaten by the better man on the day, which i predicted. I also predict McGregor will win a rematch if it happens.
Silversnake 1,099
And he hardly beat the best of the best. A short notice diaz beat him. Fair play he beat aldo. Mendes was on 2 weeks notice Nd the only other fighter who was half decent was max Holloway who took him to a decision.Aldo was the pound for pound king = best of best. Sure mendes had 2 weeks notice which was a disadvantage but it was also a disadvantage for McGregor as he was training and mentally preparing for a much different fighter, mendes is a killer and a horrible match up for McGregor and he did not have to take the fight but he fearlessly did and got the ko. I said McGregor was crazy to take Diaz before he fought him as he is always fit doing triathlons for fun, taller, bigger, better jiu jitsu, great boxing but most of all incredibly durable which i believe is what got him the win in the end. Also McGregor could have picked an easier fight or made it 155 which is the weght he was preparing for as he fearlessly challenged dos anjos and the weight cut would have hurt Diaz more than McGregor. You do not have to like him but the points i have made here make me respect him even though i am not a fan of the smack talk. Atb.
