I was out on the river for first light shooting sawbills under license ....one of the lads was into a fish his first cast will get a pic of it later

He lost the fish ....I've had 2 this morning both around the 7-8lb mark ....this years fish seem to be well made bars of silver ...looks like being a decent weeks fishing

Any time you want a cast give me a shout ...its actually catch n release on this river until the first of May then you can keep fish ....I dont eat salmon as I grew up on it and got sickened of it but I will keep a fish if it wont go back bleeding at the gills etc and have no guilt in doing so as I do enough on the river to protect the salmon with smolt shepherding and sawbill culling so I feel i can justify keeping the odd fish
