The fox is a surviver whether there is rabbits about or not,at 1 time it was a hot spot around my neck of the woods for rabbits with hauls of 60-70 a night being taken on the lamp with a couple of lurchers not counting what lads were geting with the ferrets but now you would be very lucky to hit double figures in a good night,local golf club is about the only place that still holds a good number but still loads of fox about.Disease,birds of prey,pinemartin,hunting everything takes its toll on the rabbits but the fox lives on,waterfowl,rats,mice not counting game birds and livestock he has an abundance of food source to go at.
