bigmac 97kt 13,796
I was at a loos end tonight so i thought i would rub the hw100 down and re oil her as she has not been done for a while the oil used is tung oil gave her a quick rub over first with the 0000 wire wool to remove all the old sh*t that has built up on her put the tung oil on thick , you let this stand for an hour to an hour and a half then wipe it off and buff the stock then let stand until the next day to dry atvbmac  1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
I have TWO ex wives. The last one gave me an ultimatum. "The guns or me" .... I'm still here and still shooting. I'm lucky that Helen totally gets what I'm about and let's me, be me. And I let her be her. That's what is should be about. mac you pay more attention to your guns than i do me woman! maybe thats why I've 2 ex wives atb si Well iv got one x wife is that where i went wrong atvbmac  . davyt63 1,845
Hi Mac Is that saturated/wet in oil? Or is that a high gloss finish? It's like the finish that true oil gives. Quote Link to post

David123 14
Looks spot on. Sorry for jumping on your thread but can i ask, rather than rubbing it down with the fine grade wool what would you clean it with? Just a damp cloth and then dry it? 1 Quote Link to post

Sorry for jumping on your thread but can i ask, rather than rubbing it down with the fine grade wool what would you clean it with? Just a damp cloth and then dry it? If its a wall nut stock all ways use the wool then oil as this will keep the grain good on the stock if you keep wiping her down with a damp cloth she will get dry spots on her and wont look as good but it is ok if its a beech stock as the oil that is on them sets hard like lacquer hope this helps atvbmac Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,358
That is nice without the stippling. The grain looks good and, I like the knot on the side. 1 Quote Link to post
