shropshire dan 467
If you can hit a rabbit in the head your going to hit a fox. Why risk a fox chest shot with a .22lr and letting it run away wounded. Sure it will die but it will die slowly. A 40g sub to the head of a fox at 60 yards will drop it on the spot. 1 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
22lr for sure. All I would like to add is please consider not shooting Charlie in the head. Not saying ever but rather than risk a busted jaw send one across the ribs, that way you have killed it for sure :-). U. Is that the same Underdog I know from another site? Quote Link to post

Even with all the power of a 22!I have and will shot a fox in the noggin but will always go for the ribs given a choice. No difference as shooting a deer thus and stalkers of deer expect the deer to run, however they are rarely lost. U. Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Absolutely mate. I'd only go for the ribs with a CF rifle. I personally use a .22-250 and always go for a frontal chest shots even with full metal jacket ammo. I've never had a runner, nor have ever witnessed a fox run after a .22lr to the head, but imagine id get a lot with a .22lr chest shot. Quote Link to post

They are dead just don't know it :-). U. Edited April 21, 2016 by Underdog Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Fair play. I'd have never have imagined it to be honest. I may well have to give it a go Quote Link to post
